It is if you drop the first 3 words. I usually do for simplicities' sake,
and to fool people into thinking I'm refering to Hikaru No Go. :)

by at least giving Guu a certain measure of

backstory and motivation for what and how she does what she does.

I try to think of her as an elemental force of nature, and don't bother with
a motive. One does not defeat Guu, one can only surivive her. Also, it makes
her Sai-like, since he had motive for being there as well.

the show, and wish there was more - oh hell, ANY - fanfiction on it,

I always want to read *good* fanfiction. Although the less of a series there
is out there, the higher a quality an average fic might seem. Like I
mentioned, it's hard to do since it's humor, which few people write in, and
very visual, and Guu's not the most widely known series out there.

whenever I try, I get stuck because I can't figure out what makes Guu
tick... or more to the point, what makes her go cuckoo every half-hour.

And it's a very visual type of humor, like Excel Saga. It's hard to write
fanfics with that.

And while I'm on the subject, Hikaru seems a bit more restrained than

Hale,

too.

He is. As perfect a straight man as Hale is, he is wound up tight. Hikaru is
nowhere near as bad.

Ha! I love that description of it. You should do a spamfic of it. Shinji
hovering in limbo and wishing for Misato to be his mother, and Rei to have a
little more 'life' to her. and have this what he gets.
