Oh, I don't know.  You _could_ use 'loose', but it wouldn't mean the
same.

For example:  'Parting with his sword caused him to loose his honor.'

Sohin: "Get'em Honor! Attaboy! Chew his leg off!"

Honor:  "Barkbarkbark!  Rrrrrr.r.r.r.rr."
