...which is exactly what I thought on
seeing you posting to the FFML.  ^_^;

Oh! Hello, hello, Adrian-san. :-) I have been active in the /BSSM/
community ... not as much in the OW! I still post (very) occasionally, but
I fear my sense of humor is not what it was in 1999-2000, alas. The
university made me rather stodgy.

i think its a shame that ffn is so..
sperated from raac.

The sad thing is ... I do not know what RAAC is, but I assume it is a /Ranma
1/2/ archive? (Forgive me, but I am not a major fan of that series, and my
knowledge of it and its fandom is touch-and-go outside of the few manga I
own.) That proves your point.

raac holds a great archive. ffn is
so often, well, down when i try to read
a chapter with its infamous 'come back
later'message (where other pages load
ok. so its very.. suspicious..)

I have noticed that, too, but, as with all web sites, I have been learning
to deal with it, mostly by reading -- and submitting -- only in the early
morning, when traffic is generally low. I can understand your frustration.

there is less.. mmm.. quality control
for lack of a better term (or lack of
revision).

Whatever you want to call it, reading at FFN means wading through crap to
find the proverbial golden nugget. I wish that the submission standards
could be improved, but that would upset the automated nature of the system.

but as you pointed out, raac/ffml is
for dodgy old gits, ffn is for hip young
people who dont even read their own
stories.

Oof, I do not think I said that explicitly, and I apologize if you feel it
was implied. A large part of the reason I am on this list is my tremendous
respect for the old guard, which has been withdrawing from several sites
(or, as in the case of ASMR, it has been systematically driven out in favor
of the "hip young people" ... which does not include me). FFN is the
melting pot, and older groups like the FFML are the bay leaf which seasons
what might otherwise be a rather bland stew -- at least, that is how I see
it.

sigh.. so much injustice in the world! :)

And not enough fanfic in the right places, but that is always on the way to
being remedied. In any case, thank you for your point of view. :-)
