Hello, first of all, I'm sorry if you get this twice,
I tried to avoid that, as well as avoid sending to
lists that dislike much in the way of out of topic
stuff (though I sent to the FFML since I don't think
this is offtopic for them).  But I probably ended up
sending to some of you twice. (I also probably am
going to end up with a lot of returned mails as I bet
some of my addresses are out of date)

Anyway this is about the Monthly Original Bishoujo
(MOB) which is described as follows from their own
site:

"Monthly Original Bishoujo is a monthly site that
features, as per the title, pretty girls. ^_^ Thanks
to the popularity of MAG - Monthly Anime Gaijin,
monthly sites that feature original characters are
becoming more and more popular. Thus why this site was
created. And given the commonality of cute, pretty
girls in anime, it seemed like a natural choice! 

If you're unfamiliar with how monthlies work, here's
the run down: 

A featured character is put up on the site for the
public to view on the 10th day of every month. 
Artists have exactly a month to draw the character in
any manner they choose, within the rules. 

After the due date, the gallery of submissions goes up
for public view, and all the submissions are voted on.
There are two categories in which submissions can get
votes: Artistic and Creative. 

Voting continues until the end of the month, and then
all voting results are displayed. First, second and
third places are awarded in each category. 

A coin toss is used to determine which of the first
place winners will get to choose a character of their
own to be featured in the month after next. 

The process repeats. 

Pretty simple, eh? It's open to anyone who want's to
participate, and artists may submit as seldom or often
as they like. Contest details can be found at the
rules page."

It was mentioned that some of the old guard had
stopped participating as they'd already won in the
past and that, as a result, submissions were down (and
then they have a record number of submissions entered
for this month).  It was suggested that we tell our
friends about the existence of this website in the
hopes that more people would participate either as
voters or artists.

Also, there is the fact that I have a submission up
this month (#2 for the character Blanche) and so now
you all have the pleasure of watching me buried by the
horde of better artists (some of these people are
professionals for goodness sakes, how can I compete?)
again.
