I thought he had been hit at a moxibustion point to weaken him.  Did I mix 
that up or did someone reverse it for him?

Happosai got his cure after Cliopatra, Mara, Taro and he captured Ranma, 
Ranko and the others, back in chapter 15.  The whole reason he was helping 
Mara, of course, was to find out where the curing moxibotion point was off 
of Ranko or Ranma's back, so he could use it on himself.
