Because you got drunk and knocked up.  Reason enough?

Maybe haruka would have said something lile that if she didn't do into her
little ranting trip the night before.

She feels guilty (rightfully so), which makes her more open to guilt trips
and like like...

Hotaru slowly looked up to Haruka, her eyes red and clouded with unshed
tears "I'm not a child any more...

You are fifteen.  And not the most mature fifteen I've ever seen.

True, but see above....

Ranma scowled, and pushed Haruka, causing her to put some distance in
between them. "I had no control over what happened. I was drunk, and so
was Hotaru...."

Well, I wouldn't exactly say no control.  After all, he was sober enough
to perform.

But drunk enough so his memory of the night faded into a large blur... he
was not in full control...

could see the engagement ring which Ranma had given her. "He's already
asked, and I've accepted his proposal."

Haruka took a long moment to look at the ring, and whistled in
appreciation.  "That's a hell of a stone, if it's real.  Did you see
him buy it?"

If I was Haruka, I'd wonder how Ranma could afford it.

Good point... I'll bring that up later...

"I'll get us somethin' ta eat." He paused for a moment, then motioned
to Haruka adding, "She can come too, if she can keep her trap shut, and
the volume down."

trap shut, or at least turn the volume down."
