Oh, and I read the Taming a Dragon fic too.  What got me into that 

was the 

reference to Fu Manchu thanks to the movies about the same guy.  Was 

there 

any books about the evil Doctor? Or was it just a movie from the 

start?

Speaking of Fu Manchu, I seem to remember a comment how that is not 
exactly the world's most imaginative name for a character.  Maybe it 
can be a pseudonym or something.  "Fu" = fortune or 
prosperity, "Manchu" = Manchuria, as in where the rulers of the Ching 
dynasty came from.  Maybe the good doctor is of royal blood, or at 
least of the Manchu tribe.  (Those who considered themselves of "Han" 
descent would definitely not name themselves after the "barbarians" who 
ruled China.)
