*ahem*
First of all: this thread is banned, it is no more, take it to private
mail, and all the rest of it.
And as to the posters, in order:
fox1@colla.com is correct in noting that the cached link on google was
incomplete. However, the same search also turned up a "Largo shrine"
with a link to the fic in question as a .zip file. Also, a search for
"Benares fanfiction" ("Benares" being the author's pen name, which was
listed in the above-mentioned incomplete cached page) turned up two
pages (a cached redirect page, and the Wildes' fanfic links page) with
links to the author's current site.
Jay Kominek, your post did contain information that was of broader use
than just finding this particular author's works, and this could justify
it being sent to the list, if it were not also borderline flame
material. As the FAQ says, if you have a problem with someone else's
behavior on the list, take it up with the person in question and/or the
list admins via private mail.
Francis Bonganay's URL should have been sent privately. As stated in the
FAQ, if anyone else is interested in the same URL, they are expected to
privately email the person who requested the fanfic and ask for any
responses to be forwarded. What's more, his second post quoted someone
else's private reply to the list, and was unnecessary in the first place
given that (a) only one person reported a problem with the site, and (b)
the second post offered no useful information for dealing with said
problem.
So, our final awards are as follows:
fox1@colla.com: As a multiple repeat offender, two-week tempban.
Francis Bonganay: One-week tempban.
Jay Kominek: Our consolation prize, the patented Very Stong Warning,
along with a year's supply of Rice-A-Roni and a copy of our home game.
