Err... bah, I see a ton of references to both spellings. The Tenchi
Encyclopedia that I have on DVD doesn't say. So, whatever.
I tried looking up both in a japanese/english dictionary, and only found
hakubi [(n) fine example; the best]; there was no entry for habuki.
And Washuu is exactly that, at least in her own opinion :)
I suspect the reason for the misspelling is because people think it
sounds similar to Hibiki :)
It can help to look at the map -- almost everything in TM! is named after
place names in Okayama Prefecture, remember?
And indeed, we find a train line named 'Hakubi' in Okayama Prefecture.
