free of concern. His eyes were closed, and he seemed
asleep. Next to him, clasped in a loving embrace, floated
Ifurita. Long strands of white hair veiled her face.

{It changes color with the lighting, but I think its base color -- in OAV
series I, anyway -- is pale blue... well, maybe the liquid is distorting
colors.}

Hmm, must have gotten it confused with Sylia's hair from BubblegumCrisis 2040.

If you haven't seen this remake of the original Bubblegum Crisis (which
isn't all that great), the characters are virtual duplicates of the El-Hazard
ones in terms of drawing style, having being done by the same studio.

Sylia is pretty much Ifurita, except for white hair.

Held
tightly between them was the device that had started the
entire situation - the Power Key Staff.

I think I based this on the anime translation of my tapes, but how
accuratethat is.... I've also seen many other versions of his name, such as
Stalubaugh, etc. Strellbaugh, to me, seems more of a natural name than
Stalubaugh.

the increasing numbers of Rapture nodules appearing in El-
Hazard.

{This is the only part of the story that gives me any trouble... so I'll
let you have it.  Every story gets one anomaly for free.  :) }

Oops, I did have an explanation - Makoto can't actually create an entireworld
on his own; he needs the processing power/imagination of other
humans, thus the appearance of Rapture nodules in EH - I just forgot to
include in the fic.

If El-Hazard was magnificence incarnate, then the world of
Rapture was perfection. All your dreams and desires became
real. And Gallus had truly loved her, within...

In the end, it was her love for flawed Roshtaria that had
overcome her desire to stay forever.

Rune shook her head once more. Londs was right. Across the
River, the Bugrom were slowly recovering after their
virtual annihilation in the last war.

This is just the sort of thing (more stories exploring the ideas people
were throwing out about El-Hazard) I hoped would happen... thanks for
writing and sharing!

Well, I had the idea and the scene flowing (for the first time in over a
year),so I had to sit down and recapture my muse.
