There, trimed your subject line for you ^_^
Just read from start - very nice story.
I'm think it might have been better to have kept the Ranma
reference out, Easter eggs are fun, but too much chocolate's
not good for you (to stretch a metaphor). It doesn't bug
me enough that I'd suggest retro-editing ^_^
I like the subtle way in which you've shown the existance of
Muses as part of the common mythology of the world. E.g.
it (as I read it) is not something that everyone, or even
many people actually _know_ but I'd guess their reality is
probably reflected in old wives tales, fiction and such.
[Disillusion me if I've got the above completely wrong ^_^]
The hints that, overdone, direct infusion of a muse's
inspiration could affect memory reminds me of Final
Fantasy 7 where hosting the guardian spirits damaged long
term memory.
I wonder whether you happen to have read a certain 'Sandman'
graphic novel by Neil Gaiman?
Laughter was the first memory to resurface...
"Childhood remains forever,
A wave laughing on the shore;
Memories long gone return,
Changed by their time at sea."
--Nabiki Akato's Diary
May I say that's a very fine bit of text up there ^_^
"Where's Kenji at, dear?" Kenji's mother asked kindly.
Sounds a tad oddly phrased, to me.
Focus cleared her throat. "Enchant's words tonight can mean
only one thing. Invasion."
I suppose that could imply that the furies are on a plane that is
separate to both the physical world and that where the muses (and
presumably other supernatural beings) hang out.
I shall hearby officially cross my fingers that future episodes of
this fic do not get too dark for my taste. ^_^
"What fate I was given is not mine to see, but to
create with my own hands. I suppose that is the
nature of inspiration."
--Takeo Terada's Diary
It's probably just me, but the first sentence of that diary snippet
sounds a little awkward.
Well, that's all I 'ave ta say, there isna any more. -_-
Try leaving a few more mistakes next time, you might get more C&C
;-P
