Gaia's Awakening

Prologue
---

I realise, for some time now, that my human memories seems to fade and
get confused. Before it become critical, I decided to secure my memory so
that
I'll never be forgoten. Not that I can die, but I travel so much that I tend
to not come back in some places for decades. So here is me and my friend's
story. Shall them be worshipped like deserve those of our rank.
All have started a little before the earth's 2000 year, 50 years after
the coup d'etat of Ma Yuan who govern since as the 'World Master'
selfproclamed. We were then called 'mutants' and we were hunted by his
army's
soldiers, officialy nammed 'agents of the new peace', but beter known by
their
nickname of 'bettles' coming from their first battle armor design.
What's a 'mutant' I already hear you asking? Let me begin by describing
what is "Gaia Amber". It's pure condensed energie which take form of a white
faintly luminescent cristal. It's formed by what we have called 'Chtonergy',
the planet self vital energy, that sometinmes escape up past the surface by
rare sources.
If a human touch this 'Amber', it dissolve at the same time the person
absorb the power and he or she become a 'Waken'. a name that fit perfectly
to
the situation because the person is awaked to the fantactic potential that
exist in all human beings. you have ever since no limits, provided that you
work hard to constantly push them back.
Me and my friend had became wakens in this period. The exact time has
vanished from my mind long ago. So where this 'mutant' name come from?
Simply
form the only one weak point of the wakens : the Amber that had made us what
we are. Because to touch it a second time increase prodigiously the waken's
power, but it also make him to loss his mind and become a blood and
destruction starved beast. The human population, easily the majority because
of the low number of wakens, the Amber being very rare, fear greatly this
insane wakens, and we ave all been listed as 'mutants' and dangerous.
Being a waken of very great power, Ma Yuan got no problems to submit
the governement to his will, and when When he came to power, he created his
bettles army, those are nothing more than lobotomised wakens. Of course, to
be
able to confirm his power, he never revealed that him and his army where
indeed wakens too. And to gain the people trust, he launched his bettles in
a
big waken hunt, proclaiming capturing and destroying them, but secretly
converting them to extend his army more and more.
We had to hide ourselves, on one hand to be able to live relatively
normally, and on the other hand to be able to escape all capute attemps by
the
bettles, because the same fate as their was awaiting us.
As intersting are some details, I will start my tale to the point where
all have really started for us : my father took me, when I was little,  on a
10 years long martial arts training journey, so that I could inherit his
martial arts school. It is during the last months that the story itself
started for us.
Our father had told us taht we were engaged since our birth, a pact of
honnor with his best friend. I might as well say that the info wasn't well
received. As if two familly honnors meant anything at this time when events
were rushing the world.
So it was nonetheless decided that we would go visit this familly to
clear the situation while the others would stay there.
This day's details aren't very clear in my mind because I wasn't there
myself. The journey itself wasn't all that hard for us, to not be detected
was
more of a challenge, but we managed.
When we arrived to destination, it was raining. Trivial? Sure, but for
us, it means cold water, and cold water means change. We had then what was
called a curse that changed our shape to the simple touch of cold water, a
little hot water was suffisent to change back to our real self.
It's that way that landed on their destination, the Tendo dojo, a sky
blue haired yoing girl and a little black pig. Hardly after coming in, we
immediatly felt a power, we can develop the ability to feel the others
wakens
and mesure their power. How this person had escaped the detectors, we never
found out.
This is how our meeting went of.

"Ranma! It's him!" say Nabiki while running toward the home entrance,
her father close behind her.
"Saotome! How long did I wait for you!"
When they got to the entrance, they find a young girl with blue hairs
tied in a piftail, dressed with a sleeveless chinese shirt the same blue as
her hairs, a back pants and black combat bracers. She have a little black
pig
with a blck and yellow bandana in her arms.
"Would... you...?" ask Sound Tendo, pointing her with his finger.
"Ranma Saotome!" she answer.
'Fianlly! You are here!" he say, taking the girl in his arms... or
rather trying to because she has now backed of.
"Excuse me, but before the presentation, can I have some hot water
please?"
"Sure. I go get it." say happily Kasumi before she vanishs in the
kitchen.
"I have something to show you before anything else. It will make it
easier." she explain, staying in constant distance between her and her host.
"Where is Genma?" ask the Tendo father.
"He is not with us, but I will explain all in good time." she answer
him, a sad smile on her lips.
"There!" say Kasumi while giving a kettle to Ranma.
"Thanks." She take the kettle. "Okay, I have something to show you all
and then I will explain. Don't be too surprised." and then she pours a
little
hot water on her head. Immediatly, her hairs darken, she growns a little,
she
loss her curves and gain more corpulence. When she speaks, her voice is
deeper. "You seemed to not saw it, but I was a girl until now. I have a
curse,
and like you just saw, hot water cancel it." she, now he, explains while
starting to enter the house.
She put her bag, the kettle and the pig on another room and then close
it. "My friend here, name's Ryoga, has the same problem... let's give him a
few moments to be dressed and then I will start the explanation."
"Effectivly, a short moment later exit from the room another young boy,
dressed with a yellow sleeveless shirt, a black pant and the same bandana
than
the pig's.
"We came to settle the honnor pact between our two familly... but there
is now a more pressing problem I'm affraid." announce Ranma while pointing
to
Akane.
"You are right. How did she escape the detectors?" ask Ryoga, looking
the yougest sister up and down.
"What are you talking about?" Ask Akane.
"Ranma? What is it?" question Soun.
"M. Tendo, I got a sad new for you. You daughter is in danger. Her
presence here alone is putting your WHOLE familly in danger."
"What are you telling?" ask Nabiki, her anger at the two boys
increasing. <How dare they come here to say such things?!>
"Don't tell me that you never saw taht she had got stronger
recently..." say Ryoga unbelieving.
"If the bettles find her..." add Ranma.
"The bettles?!" explode Nabiki. "What do you want the bettles to have
something to do with my sister?"
"What do you think? What's their jobs?" Ryoga ask her with a cold
glare.
"To hunt the... mutants?" she enb her sentence in a whisper,
understanding what the boys are trying to tell. "You want to tell that...
she..."
"...muted? yup."
"No! NO!" start to cry Akane, trembling with fear and rage.
"KEEP YOUR CALM!" howl sudendly Ranma. "It's not that catastrophic. ALL
the mutants are not dangerous. Only a few of us lose their mind during their
awakening."
The wanted effect, to calm everybody, it easily done by his confession.
But the realisation that not only one, but three mutants, one being one of
them, supposed to be bloody beast, and that they are chatting calmly shock
the
Tendo greatly.
"First, our real name is not 'mutants', but 'wakens', and we are not
monsters to be hunted, but what the whole humanity shall have been if it was
in haminy with the Earth." start to explain Ryoga.
"It's the vital energy of the planet itself that cause what we call the
'awakening'. It breaks the humans limites and raise us to a higher level of
existence. Your daughter is not a monster. She just have to avoid touching
the
Amber again." Ranma go on the explanation.
"The... Amber?" ask Akane.
"Yes. I suppose that you found lastly a white luminescent stone, and it
dissolved when you took it. This stone is a highly concentred mass of the
planet's vital energy, and it's that that had made us wakens. On the other
hand, if we were to touch it a second tome, the power growth would be so
much
that we will lose our mind and became the 'mutants' so feared."
"Sadly, our friend the World Master has listed all of us alike. But
what do you think the bettles are? They are like us, but their are under
mond
control so assure their loyalty... And the destruction of mutants by the
bettles hand is just a cover, bacause those arreted are converted." add
Ryoga.
"And all the civils that could identify the newly converted bettles are
mercylessly slaughtered. So I repeat : your daughter put the whole familly
in
danger. We came for the engagement, but you understant that if your familly
were to be massacred by the 'agents of the new peace', the union between our
familly wouldn't mean anything.
"What... will happen to me?" Akane ask them. "I don't want..."
"None of us want it. That's why we are fighting againt this tyran."
Ranma say this while taking of his bracers, showing two large burns on the
inside of his wrists : a dragon on the right arm and a tiger on the left
one.
Only Nabiki gasp seeing this. "We have joined a resistance group, but it was
detroyed. Then we discovered a fortificated Amazon village. We joint them in
their battle for freedom. In China, ten percents of the total population is
awakened. But this village is a special training camp componed only of
wakens." Ranma put his bracers back on.
"M.Tendo... You must entrust us with your daughter. She will be well
formed there and she will be able to defend herself against teh bettles
shall
they get to her." Ryoga tell him sadly.
"But... but... the engagement, the union of the schools..." sob the
man.
"Enough! What do you believe is the most vital? Think of all the
people, wakens or not, taht die bacause of this tyran of World Master.
Against
the freedom of millions of persons, what the importance of two martial
schools
unification?" ask Ranma furiouly.
"He is right." whisper Akane. "I don't have a choice. If I stay here,
they'll find me and then then'll kill all of you... I... I could not live if
I
were the reason of your deaths."
"Perfect! You did the good choice. He he he..." declare Ryoga. "I got
an idea. The Engagement thing is still possible. Since Akane is coming with
us..."
"What!?" shout Ranma, letting despite himself a part of his power to
escape under the shock.
"Danm! Quick! The time is short..." Ryoga turn toward Akane. "Go get
some clothing, we are leaving immediatly!"
"But..."
"NOW!"
"Stupid... That was just plain stupid..." is lamenting Ranma.
"What's the big deal?" ask Nabiki, don't understanding the sudent
change.
"I let my power escape my control a short moment. If a bettle patrol
detect the outburst, they will be there in a matter of minutes. We need
to..."
he cut himself like if he heard a sound. "That's it, they are coming...
Three,
it will be easy. Ryoga, you are about her and leave first while I give you
some time." he walk in the garden, and wait near the koi pond that is there.
"Be careful, Ranma!"
"Pff, this is just three little bettles. Hide your power as much as you
can, so I will be the only one detected. I relieve myself of this patrol,
then
I do a little trouble on this dictrict to help mix up the tracks." He say
grinning.
"See ya at the village."
The air around Ranma is soon freezing. Akane is back from her room, a
full sport bag under her arm. Without losing a second, Ryoga take her is his
arms and leave the house running at un unbelieving speed.? He disapead from
sight just when three blue armored men come flying down the sky in the
garden,
facong Ranma.
"Hum... aura 90?" say one of them.
"Impressive boy, but you will need more to beat us." add another one.
Ranma take a combat stance and beging to focus.
"Come, I don't have time to spare." HE say before launching himself
againt one of his opponent. Surprised by the speed of the 'boy', the bettle
is
not able to dodge the punch and he is it on the face, the blow crushing his
skull and his cervicals with a horrible noise. Ranma take his bloody hand of
the now dead bettle and face the other two.
"Grr! You scum! You were hiding your power... 150? No... might you be-
gargl." finish the second one when Ranma use the distraction to cruch his
larynk with the same hand. His other hand hit the last one like the thunder
and pierce his heart, ending this short carnage.
"I must make it quick, more will arrive soon!" Ranma say to himself.
"M.Tendo, I'm going now. When they arrive, tell them the truth : two mutant
came, have kidnapped your daughter and then fleed back. We will return to
visit when the situation has calmed itself. I promise on my honnor that I
will
take care of Akane to my best. Farewell!"
Ranma start gently to raise in the air. He then fly up the sly and
vanish quickly in the darkness of the night, leaving a father and his
daughters crying their separation with a member of their family, but
conforted
knowing that she is in the good hands of her fiancee and while she will be
with him, nothing can happen to her.

this is the first FFML draft
I will explain more of the universe on the next chapter
for now, just know that this universe will be like any other simply because
I made it with two friend while creating our own RPG (paper and pen, not
video game)
the more the story will go, the more the universe will develop itself
well I hope to be contacted by a lots of FFML users and ranma lovers
there will be some strange events and match
and a lot of new techniques that exist in our game.
