You know there's a major issue you forget here...  how is it that kids can
re-register themselves, or did I miss something in the previous chapter?  18
isn't legal in Japan...that would be 20.  I seriously doubt that Akane would
have had bank accounts until she graduated from college and got a job.  High
school students are many times forbidden from working part-time jobs while
in school.  Others, even if they can, don'thave time for it except during
vacations.  So basically what I'm saying is that Akane wouldn't have much
money to put into an account anyways, and would have been living off an
allowance.

In order to just *move* in Japan you have to go to the city hall you
previously lived at and fill out forms sayig you're leaving, and get a form
from them to take to the new city hall to register your residence there.
All of this requires your official personal stamp that is registered at city
hall (different than just any personal stamp that you may use for your bank
account).  Additionally Akane would have to remove herself from her from her
family registery in city hall where her family has it kept.  She would also
have to be of age to do so as well.

Also adoption is *not* a big thing in Japan.  If you can't have kids, you
just generally don't have any, but to be honest many couples, particularly
the women, aren't interested in kids and prefer to concentrate on their
careers.  As a general rule, I'd say that there is no adoption in Japan...it
is so rare that it's pretty easy to say that....at least adoption in the
normal sense.... the kind that does exist is marrying into a family, taking
their family name and joining the family registry...and that is for guys as
well as girls.

So what is the point of all this?  bascially... mamoru couldn't and wouldn't
adopt Akane.  Akane isn't legal to do anything, much less the cultural
issues with adoption, and Mamoru is too young to be able to do anything as
he isn't a fully legal adult yet (at least I've never thought him to be 20
or older in SM)...  you get the drift.

Now outside of that, I'd like to see more of the basic premise of Akane
leaving home, hitting Juban, and Ranma and Co. coming after her.  I'd like
to see where you're going to take this story... big battles?  Ranma and Co
can't recognize the Senshi as who they are, but Akane can?  Akane gets a
clue in Juban, but is clueless in Nerima...what's next...Akane learns to
cook???
