Strange. All through the Kasumi-and-Ranma scene, I was half expecting
a hint that Kasumi had been wise to the whole thing all along, and that
she had done away with the false Shampoo-as-Akane so that she could get
Ranma for herself. Leaving the story one of double-crossing to the very
end ...
I cannot deny the thought crossed my mind, but I decided there had to be
limits. Not everyone could have a secret. Some people need to be 'innocent'
victims.
I guess when it comes to this kind of fiction, it's hard to _stop_
looking for the hidden motive. Thus the reader becomes as much a
conspirator as any of the characters.
Yep. I won't deny that's partially why I did that part in that manner. I was
pretty sure people were expecting some twist in the Ranma Kasumi part. But I
guess the 'surprise' was that there was not one there.
As a side issue, I note that this isn't the first story of yours that's
ended up with Akane and Shampoo as a lesbian couple. Coincidence?
Ewww. It took me a second to recall you were thinking of, 'The Amazon, The
Tomboy, and The Kunoichi,' and that's because it doesn't even come close to
counting as a serious fic. It was written as a lark trying to use most of
the phrases in bad lemons. I think I missed 'his glistening shaft rammed
into her soft, furry mound of love' but I got most of the rest. Parodies
don't count in match-ups, though I'll admit the connection you made was
obvious, in hindsight.
PS: Oh, did I say before? I liked the story. I guess I should
mention that at some point. :)
Heh. I almost forgot about that as well. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for
letting me know.
