I do not mean to be inflamatory, I just think a disporpotionate number of
writers who explore this topic portray Ramna as (what I consider) out of charicter.
Hnh. Character debates bad... Storywise you have to bear in mind that it is not
enough to be "in character". You must also have a story. If you trap Ranma as a
girl what story opportunities present theirselves as a result?
1: Ranma learns to be a lesbian.
2: Ranma learns to act like a heterosexual girl.
3: Ranma stays alone forever.
4: Ranma finds a way to escape being trapped.
Option one is not much more "in character" than option 2 and a male
author is going to have trouble writing any kind of believable lesbian partner
for Ranma. Option four was done in the series and there isn't much more to
add to it.
