Hello!

Agreed. Very nicely done.

<> Ditto.

Thank you.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree somewhat here. Ranma

starting out as a trainer is definitely a good idea, but I don't

believe

that it's in his character or honor to remain out of the battles

forever. IMHO, he would be lead by his honor to take the path

of the warrior as the way to help the most people the most

effectively. I can see strong scenes of angst filled soul-searching

as he slowly comes to that decision, but I believe that this

decision is inevitable. Especially as he sees his new found friends

not coming back, or being killed when shots make their way past the

SDF-1's defenses.

<> I agree with this. Ranma, at least the semi-canon versions of

<> him,

Seeing that my Ranma is 26 years old, "semi-canon" is about right. ^_~

<> would hate to kill another sentient. On the other hand, when

<> he sees people hurting because of lost friends/lovers/relatives

<> he's not going to like it. When some of his students and friends

<> don't come back - it will be personal.

My opinion, exactly. Ranma isn't one to act the part of helpless

citizen.

<> Not to mention the fact

<> that at least *some* of the fatalities are going to be women,

right?

<> I know that the RDF and the REF didn't *seem* to have that many

<> female pilots (unlike the ASC - sexism is one of the few things I

<> can't claim that Supreme Commander Leonard was a rampaging

<> example of), but there had to be *some.* And that will *really*

<> push Ranma's buttons!

Well, yes, but that isn't really necessary. Ranma would join the army if

only to look after Rick, methinks.

<> And, while I despise Genma almost as much as a certain other R1/2

<> character, he did do at least two good things in his life. He

<> taught Ranma to be among the (if not *the*) best martial artists

in his

<> generation. Of course, at least part of Ranma's abilities were

<> probably developed to keep him alive despite the terminal

stupidity his

<> father is infamous for (Like, say, the Neko-Ken). The other was

in

<> showing Ranma how to be honorable (a lot more than I'd be in his

<> shoes). Largely by providing Ranma with, through his actions, of

the

Heh. I guess we all admire Ranma for the same reason: how can anyone be

faithful with Shampoo around? :-p

<> things an honorable person *shouldn't* do.

Well, I'm not one to bash Genma gratuitously. For all his wrongs, he was

a marvellous teacher. In fact, I love those fics who show this (usually

unexplored) side of him--_Let the Curtain Fall_ comes to my mind.

Also, previous foreshadowings in the story intimate that Ranma is

filled with protoculture powers due to eating several complete plants

of the

flower of life. This would tend to force him into the forefront of

the events as they unfold as everyone knows that the flowers tend to

mess

with a person's destiny in order to get whatever it is they want.

<> This point is a bit more iffy. After all, Lang and Zand were both

<> pivotal figures in the Shapings; and neither of them were "front

line"

<> players, so to speak.

Wheter they are front line players or not isn't really relevant. The

point is, they were all important, and their actions changed the outcome

of the Robotech Wars.

<> Zor's another potential example, as long as you

<> ignore Zor Prime and Rem, that is.

Huh? Zor _was_ the one that sent the SDF-1 to Earth; he was the one that

discovered Protoculture! Maybe _in the books_ he wasn't a "front line"

player.

I HOWLED when I read that scene! :) Give us more! I also agree that

Ranma training Rick would be fun :)

<> I want to see Ranma teach Rick enough to be able to match Kyle if

<> he has to. Of course, I also want Ranma to personally take Kyle

<> down a few notches.

Y'know, I've lost count of the number of people that asked me to

humiliate since I began to write this story. Maybe Kyle isn't the most

popular character in Robotech? I wonder... :-p

<> Hmm.... Why am I suddenly thinking of the first

<> Karate Kid movie, when Mr. Miagi (spelling, I know, I know) deals

<> with the punks before he starts to train the kid? With Ranma and

<> Kyle-baka in the respective roles of sensei-to-be and

<> punk-about-to-be-humiliated? :-)

Heheh. The scary thing is, I can imagine that same thing hapenning...

^_^

Thanks a lot for the C&C. I trully appreciate it.

See you!
