Hi,
Glad you liked chp. 1.
Thanks for writing.
-<SNIP>
Whee! Hoo-boy, this was a fun ride; Golden-Age
GL continuity to boot! I
especially like how you turned the Necromancer, a
tiny little blurb in the
original, into something that sent shivers down my
spine. Rare indeed is the
prose that can make me wince in disgust
(deliberately ~_^), but Zhang's
ingredients lists (enumerated in painful detail)
caused a few shudders.
Truly horrible stuff, and I mean that in the best
possible sense!
@@<blush> Thank you very much.
Exactly what I was trying to do.
Glad it worked.
I wonder if you're familiar with recent DC
continuity regarding the
Starheart, in which it was revealed to be sentient
and malevolent; if you're
not, what you've written is remarkably close to it,
without seeming
derivative.
@@Have no idea what you're talking about. ^_^
I never really read "comics" at least not
DC or Marvel. (I liked some of the odd-ball
things like E-man when I was an under-grad)
When the entire Ranma/GL x-over first came
on the FFML I started to C&C, then decided to
write an essay. The essay needed some "examples"
and the examples grew into a 400+ KB story.
This piece put me in mind of Warren
Ellis or Garth Ennis' runs
on Hellblazer, or Moore's run on Swamp Thing, in
that you took classic DC
continuity and made it "weird+creepy" while still
staying true to the spirit
of the original.
@@It's amazing what you can do with
a short bit of on-line research. The entire
GL bit is based entirely on two sites I found
that gave a summary of the original GL in
1940.
Tojo as the person saved by the
"life" flame was a nice
touch; one wonders if he would have proven to be the
aggressor history makes
him out to be without the influence of the
Starheart...
@@^_^ Interesting idea.
I'm going to elaborate a bit
more on this at the end of the
story. However my thought
was that the "flame" did not
_make_ the necromancer or
Tojo evil, merely facilitated
their evil.
Another nice touch was the rapid shift in tone
from the Moore-esque
horror of the first part into the rampant sillyness
once the Ranma regulars
were introduced. The "breast-feud" was hilarious
(SOMEbody's gotta do a
fanart piece for that) and perfectly in keeping with
Takahashi-style comedy,
while adding your own slightly-hentai touch. Bravo,
and woo-hoo.
@@<blush> Thank you again. I don't plan these
things, they just seem to flow naturally from
the story. I warn you that there is less "sillyness"
and more "Moore-esque" action as the
story progresses. There are also some
more dark-hentai (to coin my own phrase)
things to come.
Anyway, looking forward to the rest of this
epic; it's always a treat to
read new stories from you. I take it from your
afterword that Sukeban Senshi
#7 is officially finished; if that's the case, when
are we going to see it
on your site? For that matter, are you still
planning on moving it? Keep me
posted, 'cause I love those naughty-naughty
Sailors...
@@My loyal and hardworking web-master and
friend tells me she's having some troubles with
what was supposed to be her new ISP. Real Life
has also gotten in her way. The new web-page
is on hold. :(
I can either write or code HTML. I choose to write.
People are welcome to help though.
(Fan art is also appreciated. ^_^)
Be well!
