Hmm...a coupla notes that are more just interesting connections and stuff
more than C&C, but take them all as you will...
BTW - This is a continuation that I really, really, really like and enjoy
seeing more of. It's these good stories that keep me from my writing.
The young man nodded. "That's me. Are you Miss Rose?"
Allison held up her hands, palms out. "Please, call me Allison. The
children in my junior high school class call me Miss Rose, and it makes me
feel terribly old!"
"Okay, Al-li-son." Ranma paused, and scratched his head. "I'm sorry," he
said in careful English. "Your name is hard for me to say. You can call
me
Ranma, please." He opened the door, and waved her inside. "I live on the
third floor."
Allison started up the stairs, trying hard not to laugh, but a giggle
escaped her. "Don't feel bad about it, Ranma. Some of the people I work
with still can't pronounce my name, and they've known me for a long time!"
She followed Ranma into the apartment. He looked rather embarrassed, and
waved her to a seat at the table.
---- This is so true. My Japanese professor took one look at my real name
(Jerry Levine) and told me: "Japanese people are going to have trouble
pronouncing your name. Get used real quick to that."
I can imagine! Can you share with us HOW they say it??
