Well, I try to comment on every Patlabor fanfic out there (at least every
Patlabor fanfic which uses the Patlabor setting... no offense to Patlabor:
Stateside, but I never saw the connection to anime or the manga in that fic
beyond just 'police in mecha,' which has been done by other anime as
well... it reads more like an original fic, to me) so I guess I should
comment on this...

This is compilation of several scenes that just popped into my head while
I
was stacking boxes at work one day and I've finally gotten around to
writing
it. It's weird, insane, and I probably won't continue it, though if
someone
out there wants to try, they're more then welcome.

Um... heh.

Okay... in addition to being wierd, it's also technically flawed. Gotoh's
unit used the Ingrams- if you wanted to do a Type Zero demonstration, you'd
have to bring in Shinobu Nagumo. For some reason, none of the characters
sound like themselves when they're talking. And, uh... hmm. Okay, I don't
really see the point of the Ninja Turtles being part of this...

More specifics...

Hmm... and you mentioned the 'Ark', which means you're including the first
movie. The Type Zero's were being tested in New York by Kanuka, according
to the first movie, so bringing in a team from Japan to use them seems, er,
unnecessary...

April's surprised because they flew the labors oversees? No, with that
great a mass, it would definitely be easier to send them by ship... and, as
I recall, they're USUALLY shipped in the series.

Gotoh is WAY more talkative than he usually is with reporters... (and are
you sure he knows English well enough to give an interview? Wouldn't he
need a translator?)

Type Zero's aren't exactly more agile. They use the same drive and
architecture as Ingrams, with only minor modifications, but it's mostly a
better computer system- a 'Nueral Network' as opposed to a typical computer
system. As Asuma pointed out in the New Files Griffin Arc, it's a case of
Automatic vs. Manual- it's easier to use an Automatic transmission well,
but if you're REALLY good with a manual transmission, you can use it better
than you can an Automatic. However, you can replace parts in an Ingram
with parts from a Zero- and visa versa.

It's Luitenant Clancy, not Chancy- she ain't a Pokemon, you know.

Gotoh never explains himself to Asuma, even to point out that someone's
hiding something. He thinks Asuma works better when he thinks it's his own
idea.

Hmm... I guess Chancy was just a typo, since you use Clancy later...

If Takeo Kumagami is with Unit 2, she should be freaking out when they're
down below and discover the skeleton. Kanuka's story would make her even
more uncomfortable.

Kanuka REALLY shouldn't gasp and act surprised when Asuma says to move in.
Shinshi might, Noa's more likely to (though she'll do it if Asuma insists),
but Kanuka's fearless in the series, and would NOT be concerned.

Why would the Turtles be trying to stop unit 2? Why wouldn't they just try
and explain what's going on, first?

Hmm... guess that's it. You say you aren't continuing this, and I
certainly don't want to continue it myself, but if someone else wants to
they might find this useful.
