I am under the impression that people on the list prefer orininal
fics rather than those that are basically a retelling of an episode of
manga. Email me with your comments. On another note, Travis Kennedy, a
member of your list last year, is back online, and he has a fic that he
wants to put up. It's really only a quick piece of writing, you'll be
done with it in two minutes. Any comments on it he will eagerly accept,
you can contact him at traviskennedy_ministry@hotmail.com

                                                       Eva shortfic, no
title, written by Minister Travis Kennedy.

Everything based on Eva is the property of Hideaki Anno. Everything
Metal Gear related belongs to Hideo Kojima. If you have anything to say
to me, you have my email, drop me a line and if I'm not too busy
drinking beer, I'll check my mail and to ya.

Patric smirked at the soldier who patrolled these corridors, the
uniform and tin helmet distasteful compared to
Patric's style of attire. Feeling at home in the suit issued to those
who served in the secret service, the jacket of his
black business suit flew open with overexaggerated bravado, revealing a
Colt S.A.A revolver; a testiment to one of
his heroes.

"Who are you?" the guard asked. Patric grinned, shark like teeth
showing through a thick bush of hair that
served as a mustashe.

"Shalashaska," came the reply; a voice befitting that of the one
called Ocelot. Out of nowhere there came voices,
one Patric recognised as Naoko Akagi, the other sounded like a little
girl.

"Maybe she got lost," the guard suggested.

"She could've," Patric agreed. "C'mon, let's see if we can help." At
that moment, there was the sound of a girl in
pain, as well as yelling. Naoko's yelling. Patric's jaw clenched,
wincing at what was happening.

"Let's go, soldier," he said, reaching for his weapon. They got
there to see Naoko over the little girl, her hands
around the girl's throat. Sickened, Patric paused, fearing that it was
too late. A gunshot went off, not realising that
he had shot at Naoko, the bullet richocheing off the metal floor.

"Right," he said in a hoarse voice, "back away from the girl,
otherwise there's going to be two dead bodies here."
Naoko dropped the body with a sickening thud but made no move to step
away from the limp, lifeless girl. "You
heard me, move. You're lucky to still be alive." Naoko began to back up
towards the edge of the command centre.

"Okay," the guard said, taking his cue from Patric and aiming his
Walther PP9 at Naoko, "do as we say and no
one will get hurt."

"It's alright," Patric said, the gun now at his side, ready to be
holstered. "If she makes a move, we shoot her." The
guard, seemingly relieved, lowered the weapon. With that, Naoko lunged
for the fallen girl. Like lightning, Patric's
hand shot out, a loud bang echoing in the command centre. Naoko's face
was a cake of blood, the bullet opening up
most of her forehead. As if in slow motion, Patric twirled the gun once,
sliding it into it's holster with the style and
grace that only a cowboy had. Naoko staggered backwards, grabbing a hold
of the girl as she neared the edge of the
command centre.

"NO!" Patric screamed, running towards them. He unholstered his
revolver, planning to shoot Naoko's hand off,
freeing the girl. But he just kept running, running until his body
collided with the dead scientist. He paused, not able
to comprehend the body being knock back, the hand letting go, the long
fall which only served to make the woman's
death look like a suicide. The guard ran over to look over the edge as
well, not believing what he saw.

"Lasla dania," Patric said quietly. "The only place you'll be going
is to dance with the devil." To the guard, he
said "it's best that you forget about this," already at the girl's side,
his jacket off, as if he intended to use it as a
makeshift body bag. "Leave it to us."

    *Notes

As one can plainly see, Patric is a Revolver Ocelot wannabe. He even
has the same name as the voice actor. You might recognise him from my
Eva fic Beginning of Bond last year.

The reason why I concentrated on this part of Eva was because it is
so full of questions and misinterpretations, plus I wanted things to be
diffrent. I'm a big Rei fan, and for those who missed it when I was on
the list, I'll say it again: As far as Akagi goes I've got a big bunch
of bananas and I can tell ya where she can stick each and every one of
one.

How do I explain what happened to Rei? The way I have it figured,
the person who was once Rei died, in theory, and became a totally
diffrent person. Those who remember Reiko from Beginning of Bond will
have the basic idea. I'm considering a whole series of stories,
depending on what happens here. Who knows, one day I might even rejoin
the list, but not now regreatably.

Lasla dania? It's Russian for Go with God, somewhat of a formal
goodbye in Russia. Fits Eva well, don't you think? And Shalashaska?
That's another name for Ocelot. Download the awsome MGS2 movie at
ign.com.

That's all from me. Now hit the music.

Travis Kennedy of the Ministry is back.
