True, but Ranma often refers to Genma as "Kuso-oyaji." The word "kuso" means
"excrement." I assume this is the only word the Japanese have for that
particular substance, inasmuch as it is included in my old Hepburn's and
Hepburn was a Methodist Missionary. It seems likely to me, that if they had a
synonym for "shit," that was more polite, Hepburn would have included only
that word and not "kuso."

Ranma frequently refers to Happosai as "Kuso-jiji," and to Cologne as
"Kuso-baba." Ranma also use "kuso" immediately after being struck by Akane
when he did not think he really had it coming. Akane and Principle Kuno on
the other hand say, "shit!"

Don Granberry.

**Would this be the literal translation of "Oyaji"?**

    Nope. Oyaji is made up of two kanji in Japanese. The first one is
"shin". It has these alternative pronunciations:
    oya= a parent
    shita= intimate, friendly
    mizuka= in person, personally

    The second kanji is "fu". It has the alternate pronunciation "chichi=
father".

    Oyaji, the kanji of which can be reversed to get the word "chichioya",
is a colloquialism, and is considered rude because it isn't particularly
respectful. However, there's nothing wrong with the word itself.

  Ja mata,
