"Bakusai Hokodan!"

{ O_o  I'm gonna have to look that up and see if it makes sense.}

"Kachu Tenshin Amaguriken!"

{argh. Pet peeve: the KTA isn't an attack at all, and not a called
attack. It's a training method: master the KTA, get fast. Cologne was
surprised when Ranma adapted the speed granted him by KTA training for >a
multiple-punch attack. I know it's in the anime, but that's because >the
animators got it wrong. I think you gain less by using it than you >lose by

Hee. It's a bit weird to comment on someone else's comment, but this
struck me as something to ask. While I can relate to the manga more than the
anime, and the fact that the anime took the KTA technique (among other
things)out of context, what else can he shout when he does multiple punches
that will have the same affect as Kachu Tenshin Amaguriken? "HUNKA-HUNKA
BUNCHA-PUNCHES"!? Sorry, Grayson ^o^v.

Well, here's my comment on your comment about another comment. ^_^

Yes, I'll willingly accept the KTA sounds much better than an Elvis-inspired
attack name, Ucchan's preferences notwithstanding.

I think, if anything, it's just a way to express the power behind the
technique, a raging battle cry that all anime characters must do to signify
an attack. Where would Goku be without his "KAMEHAMEHA", or Kenshin without
his "Ryu Tsui Sen"?

Nods, this was my thought in the first place. It really is a method to decrease
the amount of exposition at the critical moment of the battle, thereby
increasing the amount of tension as well as presenting the appropriate mental
imagery to the reader with a single phrase.

I'm certain that all readers, no matter whether they appreciate Ranma's
expression of the KTA or not (sorry, Vince-san), will be able to instantly
recognize what Ranma is doing at that precisely given moment. That, I feel, is
the overwhelming reason for my usage of the term.

Oh, and Phil? Besides Ryoga's "critter" comment (heh), another great
chapter. I've almost forgotten which demonspawn I'm supposed to be cheering
for...

Thank you. Of course, my evil purpose as a writer is to make you like my new
characters. ^_^

Phil.
