And it sure as hell took a lot for them to get there.
If I were drinking while reading this story, I'd be sending the author a
bill for a new keyboard, monitor, and possibly desk.
Good thing I was only posting this for a friend then. I'll be sure to

There are that many "oh
wait, that's _funny_" moments. The plot itself keeps being yanked in all
sorts of weird directions by outside forces,
Oh, I dunno. I kind of think that was the way the plot was always meant to
go along. :P
but then again the plot of this
story has been one happy accident after another.
Plot contrivance? Nahhh.
It fits Mihoshi, who by
many lines in the story is not as bubbleheaded as she would seem.
Errr, not quite. It's similar to her actions in the manga. When the
situaiton calls for it, her detective hat comes on and she can be quite
effecive and get the job done. Still a ditz during the whole time, to be
sure, but nothing like the TV version of her.
And Aeka and Ryoko are relegated to comic relief,
Actually, I picture Ryoko and Aeka working quite well together. Like Butch
and Sundance. Like Batman and Robin. Like B.J. and the Bear.
And for comic relief, they seemed to end up in the best received scenes.
while Mihoshi is a major
character. Now _that's_ a change of pace. And a good one.
Thanks. I tried to do something unlike any of the other Tenchi fics I read,
and Mihoshi seemed terribly underutilized, so that gave me a lot of space
to work with.
A funny ending
with serious flashes to what as by and large been a funny story with
serious
flashes.
Interesting. I pictured it more as fifty-fifty, or slightly more on the
serious side, myself. But it's all in each person's perspective.
One can only wonder at the ultimate fate of the voice in Tenchi's
head.
I think the answer would be obvious.
