Well, the holidays are over, and it's time to get back to work, submitting your
synopses for this, the first synopses list of the new millenium!
No, it's not. The new millenium starts on Jan. 1, 2001. Get it right.
"Setsuna, please, you have to help us."
Sailor Pluto bolted to attention. A direct request for aid from her
queen - somewhat urgent, given Usagi's tone of voice, and given as all
of the other senshi had accompanied her - was not something she could
ignore. "What is it?"
"We need your wisdom as the Guardian of the Time-Space Door. Only you
can answer our question."
Pluto nodded. "Then ask it."
"Does the millenium start in 2000 or 2001?"
Pluto facefaulted. Then noticed that she was the only one doing so.
"Please, Setsuna..."
"Sorry. Standing guard here, I forget how important such matters can
be."
Moon smiled. "That's ok."
"As to your question...it all depends on what calendar you use.
According to the Gregorian calendar, the millenium does not start until
2001 - two thousand years after the approximate birth of Jesus Christ."
Mercury smiled in triumph.
"But that's not actually the calendar most people use. This is one of
the few differences. It's got a few technical inaccuracies as a
result - some would say that the first millenium only has 999 years, for
instance - but it still makes 2000 the beginning of the third millenium
where it counts: in the hearts of the many."
Mercury tried to word a protest to that for a few seconds, but gave up.
"Of course, we're still in negative years on the calendar I use."
Moon blinked. "And what calendar is that? When does it reach year 0?"
"When Small Lady is born, of course."
Everyone but Pluto facefaulted.
