Congratulations, this was my least favorite bet entry, as Gregg
just had her a Sadist.
Thanks for the kind words, but I don't think that's entirely
fair to Gregg. As I saw it, he didn't make Akane a sadist, just
someone used to solving conflict with violence. (Yeah, I know,
the canon Akane's that way too^_^) The future she lived in was a
violent place, and (as Gregg's original notes revealed) she
didn't have much in the way of human contact. Most of the
critters she dealt with were humanoid, to be sure, but along the
lines of hobgoblins, orcs and such. That's why she set out to
physically dominate Ranma right out of the gate. The vast
majority of her life experience had taught her that the surest
way to gain respect is through terror. Does that make her a
sadist? I don't see her getting any particular kinky thrill out
of hurting people, (though Ranma certainly *thinks* she does).
Your version seems much better, at least she has a chance of
learning what she did wrong. On the other hand at this point,
when Ukyou shows up or Shampoo, bang Ranma is going to say OK
let's get married and get out of town today, to get away from
the Psycho-Bitch. Who will follow them and probably kill who
ever he selects, and never understand that she is crazy, by the
standards of the Twentieth Century.
I don't think Ranma's particularly interested in marrying
ANYBODY, "Psycho Tomboys" notwithstanding. This will likely
change as the story continues, but if you gave him the choice
tomorrow, he'd join a monastery somewhere. Besides, who says his
love interest has to be one of the combat fiancees? After meeting
Akane, he might well be off tough chicks and looking for someone
a little more normal...
