Well, it depends what angle you want to pursue this.
 If you want to be
silly, you could have the 'unfortunate' be Nuku
Nuku. Just think.

No, no, let's NOT use a super-powered character
for this, shall we? If you are going along that line,
you might as well as use a saiyajin. ^_^;

But with a saiyajin, it wouldn't be funny!

Of course, if you want to be serious, then IMHO
Akane is your best choice.

I thought about this seriously, and I would have
to agree with you. I made a list of possible
characters from regular cast:

Ranma: WAY, way too advantageous. Before even
considering how he would fare against a firearm, he
can swim to any nearby island (he did it to get to
China, remember), can use his curse, is very good at
hiding and running, and don't forget his legendery
ability to reverse any odds!

And he has his own ranged attack, which doesn't need to be reloaded.

Ryoga: Again, don't think about whether a rifle can
even dent him. He can get lost to anywhere REAL easy,
and got a curse too that's for once useful.

Actually, now that I think of it, that -would- be kinda funny.

[After a frantic hunt by the industrialist]

Hunter: *pant* You've avoided me *wheeze* for a day. You may *huff* go
	free.

Ryouga:	Oh, there you are. Sorry I wandered off earlier. What were you
	going to tell me?

Hunter:	^_^;;;;;;

Mousse: Blind; that's one weakness he has. But he also
has LOTS of long-range weapons that others don't have,
and don't forget he can fly away too.
Shampoo: Other than her curse, she doesn't have much
of an advantage over Akane. Of course, just turning
cat might be enough for her.

First of all, she's a damn good tracker. She tracked down Ranma in a
foreign country where she didn't know the language, meaning that she had
to rely entirely on her own skills. When one considers that she can move
through things that impede most people (i.e walls), one could easily see
her turning the tables on the hunter through ambushes and such. And as
you said, the curse makes for easy hiding and a difficult target should
things go wrong.

Ukyo: Now SHE is Akane-equivalent in this case. The
only thing she has that Akane doesn't is that she can
swim away.

Throwing spatulas. Flour bombs for concealment. Exploding snacks.

What is with this signature, anyway?

I could tell you, but Nuku Nuku would have to kill you (or at least play
with you, like she does with Arisa and Kyouko).

Did you write a Ranma-Ranma

Actually, I did start one, but I didn't like how it was going (sticking
too close to the canon to be of any real interest). It was completely
lost when Peter Norton's Trialware ate my boot sector. I never even
reached the part where Ranma Ranma faces off against the Tendo Heavy
Industries vehicle Mallet One.

But, I guess it counts as my first real try at fanfiction.

(personally, I think Ran-Ran sounds better) fic or something?

Ranma and Nuku have the same number of syllables. Also, Ran Ran is the
name of another character in Ranma 1/2. Also, with Ranma, I could easily
use the Neko-ken as an explaination of his behaviour.

Actually, I still may. The character prototype is still there, after all,
and it has great potential. I just need a good original conflict that
suits the personality merger.

-Natsume Ranma Ranma

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.

One look at his face and I knew that I was betrayed. "Tell me."
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao." he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
