Shinji was beginning to panic.

"HEY! This is my first time out, and you sent me against two of them?"

Misato blinked. "There's ANOTHER one up there?"

"Nasty-looking guy. Tentacles and wings."

Ritsuko paled. "Uh-oh. We've got a puce pattern."

Misato paled. "GET HIM BACK DOWN HERE NOW!"

Up on the surface, Cthulu and Sachiel stared at each other for long minutes.

Then the most godawful fight since the Great old ones were sealed away by 
the angels the first time erupted.
