I am just stating to write fics and i was thinking of doing a alternate
reality eva fic that draws on the storyline of the matrix.

Anyone think this is a good / bad idea?

Cause I don't want to waste mine and others time :)

Its hard to say if its a good or a bad idea. It *IS* an Idea, but wiether it
was actually a good or a bad idea is not as important as its execution. With
bad execution even the best Idea will falter by the wayside, while excelent
execution can make an idea that has been seen dozens of times before take on
a fresh light.

Ideally, I'd say each writer has to decide if the idea is something he wants
to write or not. We're not professional writers here. We do this because we
like to. I'd be more concerned with your feeling comfortable with your own
story idea than what others think of it. Writers who arn't comfortable with
thier ideas or their skills tend to drop into sterotypical charecterizations
and situations rather than looking at what would make a particualr idea worth
writing. And that tends to affect both how you and others percieve your
work. Even for professionals, writing comes as much from the heart as the
head. if YOU dont belive the story is worth telling, the reader will
probobly belive the story isnt one worth listening to...

Argeed to all of this, one of the problems I am having every time I go back to
Star Mage, is that I haven't figured a way to do things the WAY I want to, not in
"sterotypcal" ways... Also argeed with the comment about not feeling sercure in
skills or ideas...
