Hiya FFMLers!

I'm back from Katsucon, with a fresh idea for a fanfic! Actually, I sorta came
up with a new fic during the Fanfic panel at Katsucon 5 (admittedly while
being upset over the injustice of the panel over a certain topic- oh yeah it
applies to the entire 'con, not just the panel mind you).
But before I begin writing right away, I need to know about few things
relating to how people in Japan view certain things, and it's related to
familes.

1) Do people occasionally take on middle names as well? If they are used, how
do they assume the middle name, and does it have any signifance at all? And if
they are not, does this option exist to them? Perhaps through some unusual
circumstances? This may or may not be revelant to my fic, but it certainly
should help.

2) How are mothers who have birthed children without marriage looked upon in
Japan? Or if the child is born, but mother is not yet married? Would this
problem be alleivated somewhat if the mother later gets married?

3) What is Genma's age in manga version? I'd estimate at least 35 years...

That's all I need right now- I might need more info later on, but none comes
to my mind at this moment. I would appreciate it if you can answer my
questions, then I'll get started on that fanfic right away!
