Subject: [FFML][Spam]Anime North fanfiction

I just got word from the head of programming of Anime North that they're
dispensing with discussion panels and having a fanfic contest instead.
I know Chris Angel was quite disappointed with them last year but others
of us did enjoy them. (Mostly they just needed people who knew how to
MODERATE darnit, something I volunteered for this year.)

In addition to myself, Carp and LeVar Bouyer are trying to attend;
surely, other FFML-ers are going? Anyway, the message is repeated below.
I've already written back and expressed my dismay. If anyone else feels
that way, well, now you know what's going on.

Finally, anyone wishing to send me their thoughts or commments is
welcome to do so but let's not send any replies to the FFML.

Regards,
Nightman

Nightman:
Thanks for your interest. This year, Anime North is
taking a different approach to the way fan fiction is covered in
programming. Instead of the usual discussion panels, we'll be
introducing a fanfic writing contest, with guidelines to be published on
the webpage very shortly. In addition, we'll be holding a special awards
ceremony with readings from the winners and we're looking into the
possibility of an exclusive to Anime North zine. This way I hope to make
it possible for a greater number of fans to share their works with the
public, in the same spirit as the art show and the music video contest.
I hope you and the other authors will submit entries and help us to make
this new venture an overwhelming success.
