I've said it to some people before, and I'll say it to everyone, now:
Emily Siazon is, in my opinion, the best writer of El Hazard
fanfiction around.
Better, I dare say, than mine even (and for one with _my_ ego,
that's saying something ^_^ ). Let me tell you why:
Fundamentally, Emily and I use different approaches to El Hazard
fanfics, I believe. Mine (both finished and unfinished/unreleased) are
basically explanations, suppositions, theories. Attempts to fill in
the background which we do not know. Logical deductions then, at their
heart.
Emily though, Emily has a much different appeal. Yes, they are
short, but then they do not need to be long-- words are not wasted,
bogging it down with redundancies (like I am doing right now). Emily's
stories appeal to the heart, to the internal life and truth. They are
emotional, spiritual, physical (well, this one is the last... a little,
at least). Her stories have feeling, and a depth of which I do not think
we have really yet seen elsewhere. Nemurenai, for example, is a personal
favourite of mine, as much as I can be said to prefer one over the other
(they're all quality stories), and the base idea for it is one I am quite
surprised I have not seen previously (although I once had an idea to
incorporate that idea in a crossover that never even got to pre-planning
stage, I'll admit), and I cannot conceive of being done better.

Emily, you have set a standard for El Hazard fanfiction (of which
there is not enough of, of course, something which we must all strive to
rectify by writing more of it-- yes, I'm trying to do my part, I'm trying)
which the rest of us must strive to match.

Feedback? Feedback? Much as I am loathe to do so, I cannot find
fault with it. No errors were detected, no possible changes which
could conceivably "improve" it were thought of. I cannot suggest
one single iota, except that you should write more.

Apologies for the slight lateness of the reply, but a) I procrastinate,
habitually, and b) blame the weather. Just able to get back to my
computer after 4 days now, and I've a bit of a backlog....
(yes, they'll believe that excuse, the gullible fools! mwa-ha-ha-hah!) :)
...er, I mean, s'truth! Honest!
