There's also no mention of the Ark of the Covenant (which could be an S2

which were lethal to the touch, and allowed the priest to talk to God. 
Imagine if SEELE was using it to try and communicate with the Angel that
caused Second Impact, and something went horribly wrong.

 the organization which he heads seems more like The Knights of Malta  or
even has it's basis in Masonic cults.

I didn't know that Keele was that legendary individual.  There's also the
possibility that SEELE and GEHIRN have their origins in the Knights
Templar, who were reported to be involved in dark mysticism.
