Wanted to run this idea by everybody to find out what people will think
of it.  This isn't a fic suggestion--if I get a positive response, I'll
write this one myself.

This fic, should I decide to write it, will take place in the alternate
universe shown in the final episode of NGE.  It will run for 26 episodes
and parallel the original NGE TV series.  Basically, it will follow
Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Aida, and Touji as they lead "normal" lives in high
school, but with one small twist.  As the episodes run, Aida will be
writing a fictional story about the five of them, and that story will
just happen to be Neon Genesis Evangelion as we all know it. 
Now, you're probably wondering why the hell I would want to follow up on
a dumb idea like this one.

Well, there are a couple reasons.  First, I'm pretty sure it's an
original and unique fic idea (at least, I haven't seen one like it
during my few months on the list--I'll go and hang my head in ultimate
embarrassment if there actually was one, and I missed it.)

And second, I think it'd be interesting to see how the characters in NGE
would react to the situations if they saw it the way we do--as a
fictional work.

Anyway, I hope that was a clear enough presentation of my idea..I can
see where it might sound a bit confusing.  If I get a mainly negative
response, I'll just scrap the whole thing and stick to Patlabor
Stateside.

Patlabor Stateside is a good fic.  Some people even like it, even though
it includes no mention of Ranma.  :)
