Given that Ranma's curse is explained after the demonstration, I would
think that everyone would be more surprised. After all, the only effect
that water has on them is that cold showers are a good way to switch back
to
normal.
The curse itself would surprise them, and that an outsider can transform.
But from the begining they would expect an arranged marriage to be with
someone else who transformed, and if it were with an outsider, they would be
wondering what was up, I think. So when they learn that Ranma transforms,
in many ways it would come as a relief. ("Oh, good, he's more normal than I
thought!")
Would the chitsuion (sp?) have any effect on an FKC change?
It shouldn't have any effect... but let's suppose you throw Futaba into the
spring of drowned girl, THEN hit her with the chiisuiton water. What
happens then? ^_^
In any case, it's really fascinating to consider what happens to one of the
Shimeru clan who gets a Jusenkyo curse on top of their family condition....

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather a scornful tone, "it
means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many
different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master -- that's
all."
