Not almost dead, but dead (and so would Ranma be if he hadn't been
magically protected). Ryu's stuff might be -comparable- to Herb, hai,
but bear in mind that Herb was specifically stated as being more
powerful in ki than any human can be, so if Ryu outclasses him by that
much, then Kunou is -still- dead. He's gotten better by the end of the
series, but not that much better.
Point 1: Herb, Ryu is more powerful than Herb in power levels.
There is a reason for it which I will exsplain in a chapter or two. How
ever. Herb would probably win a battle between the two because Herb is
much more skilled than Ryu, who has no real martial arts training. Herb
is half dragon, Ryu has the heart of a real one which grants him all the
power levels of a real dragon. [How he got it and what it does for him,
also who's heart it was which is another large factor. all this will be
exsplained.] The name Ryu is just what he's calling himself, he changed
his name when he got his dragon powers. [Ryu=dragon].
Point 2: Saffron, Ooops. I'll fix it. Over dramatic, exageration
on my part. My bad. He would give Saffron a real fight in just power
levels it could go either way if conditions were right. [Also this will
be exsplained.]
2) Pantyhose Tarou and Ranma teamed up against Rouga and got
their asses
whupped (mostly because Tarou was in human form) but good. Tarou was
the only one left conscious, and he didn't show a hint of fear just as
Rouge was about to kill him. Tarou also didn't show fear when Happousai
went insane and was about to kill him. If a super-powered, insane
Happousai and a six-armed, three-headed, fire-breathing,
lightning-throwing, psychotic demon goddess, both about to kill, both
when he was helpless, didn't scare him in the least, then Ryu isn't
going to either, even if he WAS as powerful as Saffron. Particularly
since Tarou would rather eat his own liver then look scared in front of
Ranma or Akane.

Point 3: They didn't try to eat Taro. Trust me getting killed is
one thing, beeing seen as a meal is something else. Someone shoots at you
and you just don't like them. You get attacked by wolves and almost eaten
and you fear dogs the rest of your life. Taro won't be quite so friendly
when Ranma tries to get some info out of him.

Point 4, Kuno would be dead. " You'd be surprised what you could
live through." As much as I hate to quote a Diseny movie, this holds
true. Also Kuno has the fastest Recovery rate of anyone in Ranma. He gets
knocked out and comes back moments later. Sure its a joke, but If the
breaking point did that for Ryoga then imagine what Kuno would be like
now? Besides if I killed him I couldn't use him in the plot any longer.
I'd say he is the most likely to survive such a blast as he is the butt
of every one in Ranma's violent tendancies.
Here is an Idea! Cologne has been using everyone to train Kuno to
be near invincible so he can marry Shampoo! Yea! He gets beat up so much
that he gets immune to any martial arts technique! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!
