What does Lawson have to do with it? And just what is
so bizarre about that characterisation?

That scene was *very* similar to one in _Right Side of
the Ledger_ by Lawson.

He likes coming up with bizarre characterizations, one
of which happens to be Nabiki's. The real Nabiki is like
Yotsuya; not especially interested in money, but in
self-indulgence. And, also like Yotsuya, she is basically
harmless.

I will make this challenge once again. The last time I did in regards to
Kodachi, you ignored it.

Why is Nabiki's characterization of someone interested in money "bizarre"?
I can quote many examples from the manga. In one story, Nabiki buys a
front-row concert ticket, and Kasumi mentions her surprise that Nabiki spent
money *at all*, even on an "indulgence". And then, of course, when Ranma
accidentally burns said ticket, Nabiki spends an entire chapter making his
life pure hell. Doesn't sound "harmless" to me.

I'd like to see you justify "basically harmless" Nabiki using examples from
the manga. Then try to explain the many episodes of behavior like these.
