Just a quick something before I go off to class... An idea, really...
Fate is Strange.
Take, for example, the case of one Jon Farber, currently ranting
and raving in his parent's basement.
"Heh heh heh.... The circle is complete now... In only a few
short minutes, the moons of Jupiter will be aligned with Proxima
Centauri, and the Magic will be channeled through the conduits, and I...
I will absorb all the knowledge I need, and be transfered to... THE
SLAYERS UNIVERSE!!!!"
Jon started laughing a bit maniacally as he knelt in the middle
of the mystic Circle o' Power. At one node, a stack of books, all
relating to swordfighting and magic, as well as the Earthdawn Rulebook
and Companion, sat, awaiting their demise as they were absorbed into Jon
to give him the knowledge.
At the other node sat a lone Slayers Tape. The box read
'Slayers, Volume 1. Japanese with English Subtitles'. That was to be
the key to open the gateway to the desired universe.
Unfortunately, Jon is a rather sloppy video watcher. The tape
inside the sleeve, the part that held the data on what universe and
when, wasn't Slayers.
It was BubbleGum Crisis.
And as the moon and stars aligned, and the Magic flared, Jon was
filled with swordfighting techniques, granted the ability to learn
Magic, and enough knowledge for him to survive in a mideval fantasy
world.
Then he was promptly dumped into one of the best known Cyberpunk
animes in history.
Fate is strange like that.
---------------------
I don't know if I will continue this, but I've just been thinking of
late, 'Gee, what if the SI went wrong, and you ended up with all the
knowledges that you'd need for one world, and got dumped in a completely
different one?' And this just kinda popped out of that....
Oh well, the idea is out there, anyone that wants it... Could be very
interesting...
