Some of these were considered. But how do you get a character from YUA to
live in the house? That's why we have who we have.

There's plenty of anime out there, yes, but the big problem
was to fill the following requirements:

1) NO USE OF TIME TRAVELING/DIMENSIONAL PORTALS

This kills any anime not set in 'modern' day,
as well as any anime whose continuity involves
  extremely weird stuff.

2) A majority of characters shouldn't be too obscure.

How many anime out there are 'universally' known?
Yes, a greatever variety of picks could have been
used, but if we do not use any series that was used
from the first season, it would really kill out
a lot of potential audience. I've never seen
Ghost Sweeper whasis and I know Phantom Quest Corps,
a series I love, is not terribly poular. A-ko,
a classic, isn't quite as well known as I'd wish
  it to be.

3) The additions should be 'reasonable'.

Rally is out. She's in Chicago. YUA is admittedly
  qualified.

I suppose I should also confess at this point that
I've got a tomboy and a lesbian fetish. n.n;;;;

Yes, that's what killed YUA and DHY. Sorry.

But what about Aoi, from YUA, He would have been perfect for this series.

He's the decoy officer, who got too good at his job, and know can't go back
to dressing or actting like a man.

He makes the other girls look like dogs, and is so feminine, he causes nose
bleeds in the men's locker room, even though they are perfectly aware of
the fact that he is really a man.
