In Crystal Tokyo, Small Lady is the Crown Princess, and every

aspect

of her life is subject to public scrutiny and criticism. When the
Crown Princess acts like a spoiled brat, it reflects badly on the
entire Royal Family. Add to that her status as a Sailor Senshi,

and

her actions reflect badly on the Sailor Senshi as well. 

<NIT>She wasn't a full-senshi. She was a senshi-in-training.

Trainees make

mistakes, and dont *anyone* try to tell me that full-senshi in this

series

don't. We've seen every one of them make nothing *but* mistakes.

Even speak

Treason towards the crown, when you come down to it.</NIT>

This is true, however...

<COUNTERNIT> During the series, the Senshi receive very little formal
training, because of their dual identites and because they only tend
to need to worry about their powers when a new enemy emerges. This is
not the case in Crystal Tokyo, where the Sailor Senshi conduct
regular training and practice sessions, and have established a
complete code of conduct and discipline. The Younger Senshi are
affected by the same code as the Elder Senshi, and their public
actions are always a reflection on the Sailor Senshi as a group.

Also, again, the Crown Princess must face the fact that every aspect
of her life is subject to public scrutiny. This taken into account,
*everything* she does, regardless, is both a reflection on the Royal
Family, and on the Sailor Senshi, as regardless of her in-training
status, she is a Sailor Senshi of the Moon. </COUNTERNIT>

In Crystal Tokyo, Small Lady isn't just some kid. She's Princess
Tsukino Usagi Small Lady Serenity, as well as Sailor Chibi-Moon.

As

such, she can't *afford* to behave the way she does when she's

trying

to spring Sakuya out of jail. Sakuya, for her part, did some stuff

in

her efforts to *protect* Small Lady that under other circumstances
would have gotten her an execution sentence for treason. She made

her

bed, and set out to lie in it, like a responsible, mature
adult...like an ideal Sailor Senshi. When Small Lady's behavior
reflected a completely opposite attitude, it angered Sakuya. Given
Sakuya's mindset, this is all too understandable.

Just what *did* Sako do that was so bad? She got rid of people that

were

threatening the one she's supposed to protect? What's so bad about

that? I

don't get it.

It's not the murder of the kidnappers that is the crime.

She attacked Sailor Pluto, and at least one other Elder Senshi. She
stole a Time Key from Sailor Pluto. She traveled to the past
illegally. And there was something else which I'm hard-pressed to
remember at the moment.

Usagi was trying everything she knew and could to get Sakuya out of

jail,

except the one thing she knew she couldn't go - break her promise

to

Sakuya. Someone send this entire cast to psychiatric care if they

think

it's unexpected that a gravely upset 10-year-old is going to react

that way. 

I won't dispute that. Nevertheless, I'd like to point out that she
could have done everything she did with a lot more decorum than she
displayed. I mean, for kami-sama's sake, she's 10, not 6...

Of course, these are the same people who didn't bother to explain

to Misako

(oh, how I despise that character) that Kimeko was going to be away

at a

training course for a while.  Instead, they seemed to think it fine

to

leave the kid wandering around thinking that she was the reason

Kimeko went

away. (for that matter, I can't believe that *Kimeko* didn't tell

her). And

if they did tell her, then why did she spend the next year in agony
thinking she'd done something wrong to make Kimeko go away.

Won't argue that one...

Mars"

and star Elder Uranus>

Heh. 

Personally, I *do* have moments when I feel that chapters of ToYE
should be renamed "Tales of Crystal Tokyo #<whatever>" and lead up to
the actual Tales of Younger Earth... 

Either that, or "Tales of Chibi-Bitch and Chibi-Bitch The
Sequel"...^_^
