I know, it was about a billion years ago when I said I would do this. I
don't know if anyone else actually remembered I had intended to write this.
Most of it has been sitting on my harddrive collecting its own sort of dust.
Well, its being evicted now. If you actually read the story *please*
comment. I really want to know if a Please Save My Earth fanfic would be
appreciated. Thanks bunches ^_^

P.S. I got ICQ now, as the more observent of you will notice. Feel free to

Dancing in the moonlight
You can hear the sound of a kiss
Like the sound of love being reborn
Singing in the moonlight
You can hear the sound of a teardrop
Like the sound of love dying

*****The Sound of Teardrops and Kisses*****
Part One:
To awaken from an endless dream...

"I dreamed I lived on Earth. It seemed so real! I breathed its air, I felt
its sun, I touched its skies! I was a part of nature, and it was a part of
me. Mm, Earth." Mokuren sighed with painful longing. "Oh, if only it were
true!"
Shion slowly walked up to Mokuren, closing the space between them, and
hugged her from behind. Mokuren accepted the hug and seemed to be warmed by
it. She relaxed a little, and looked up to look out at the blue planet.
Watching from the shadows behind the plants surrounding them, Shukkaido
surpressed a scream of agony. The way that Mokuren rested her head against
Shion, the way he held her...It was so obvious that they were in love.
Shukkaido didn't know which urge was stronger. To hit Shion, or to simply
trade places with him.
"But we're here, aren't we? Watching over it from a distance. No matter
how we wish it were otherwise..."

Ryouga woke up with a tear trickling down his cheek, his heart flaring with
bitter pain and passion. It wasn't fair! Even when in his dreams, the
woman he most wanted was taken by another man! An undeserving man! Life
was just so..so...so unfair!
Shion reminded him so much of Ranma. Unkind, undeserving, and possessed
the woman he loved. Though, at least he wasn't a pig when he dreamed of the
moon. If he ever found Shion, if Shion were reborn, he would kill him.
Nothing would stand in his way.
Assuming Shion didn't kill him first. That was a scary thought. After
all, he had been dishonourable as well...But in the end it didn't seem to
matter. Nothing had mattered anymore. It was only in the end that he had
abandoned honour for what he wanted most. And still, it eluded his grasp
and slipped daintily into oblivion...
Ryouga buried his face in his hands and began to weep.

In another part of Japan...

Ranma jolted awake. He wiped the offending tear that made its way slowly
down his cheek and looked over at his dad to make sure he hadn't noticed his
son crying. The panda was just snoring away.
It had been that dream again! That same dream...

Shion wept. It was unlike him to weep, but he couldn't help it.
Mokuren...She was dying. Dying here, now, in his arms, and there was
nothing he could do about it. He held on to her desperatly, as if he was
her lifeline. And maybe she was.
"Promise...Promise me Shion," she said softly. "Promise me that no
matter what happens, you wont take your own life." Shion nodded, tears
still flowing. He couldn't say no to her. He could never say no to her.
Especially not to this, her dying wish...
No! Don't think of it like that! "Mokuren," he moaned. He felt that
every second that passed, every bit of her life that ended, a part of his
heart was clawed out by a million uncaring talons. Mokuren gave him a faint
smile, her eyes shining with her love. Then she closed her eyes and her
breathing stopped.
Dead. Mokuren was actually dead. No! It couldn't be! Not Mokuren!
Shion was the last one left on the base. Shukkaido had been wrong. He
hadn't found the cure. This almost comforted him. It meant that even
though Mokuren was dead, he would be joining her. It was only a matter of
time before he contracted the disease and died as well...
   Mokuren...
He gathered up her honey coloured hair in his hands and cried into its
familiar scent.

Ranma shuddered, trying to hold in the tears. No matter how many times he
had had this dream, it still struck him the same way. It wasn't just a
dream to him, it was real. Like he was really Shion and Mokuren was real as
well.
For some reason, when he thought of Mokuren, he thought of Akane. It
made sense when he thought about it. He loved Mokuren as Shion, and, even
though he wouldn't admit it, he loved Akane as Ranma. 'I wonder,' Ranma
thought. 'If Mokuren was real, would I love her more than Akane?'
And Shukkaido...He reminded him a lot of Ryouga. In love with someone
that...sort of...belonged to him. Though Shukkaido was too soft hearted to
fight as agressivly as Ryouga. He genuinly liked Shukkaido. He seemed nice
enough. Though he had a foreboding feeling about that guy...
Mokuren's death. He couldn't stop thinking about it. It was like
Akane's almost dying all over again. Ranma swallowed at the lump in his
throat and rolled over, ignoring the melodic sound of the cool droplets on
his pillow.

The next morning, Ranma was all but asleep at the breakfast table.
Normally, he was wide awake and well able to defend his food. But he was
awakened many times by a certin disturbing dream...
"Ranma!" Akane said, slapping Ranma on the back of the head. "Pay
attention!"
   "Sure thing, Mokuren," he mumbled.
"What did you say?" Akane said, blinking in a cutely confused manner.
Ranma jolted away, realizing his mistake. "I said don't do that again,
you kawaiikunee *deaf* tomboy!"
Akane growled and hit him again anyway. "That's the thanks I get for
saving your food from your gultinous father?"
Ranma and Akane fell into a typical fight. Nabiki stared at Ranma. :I
could have sworn he said...But no, it's not possible. He must have heard
the name from a TV show or something. We couldn't be sharing dreams, after
all,: she reasoned, and went back to eating her rice.

Authors Notes:
I'm really sorry this part is so short. I'm basically just trying my hand
at it and trying to see how popular it will be, if at all. If anyone has
synopses of the manga (as much of it as possible), movie, and/or the books,
*please* send it my way, especially if its detailed scripts. I need all the
information I can get. I've only seen the OVAs, so that means my knowledge
is quite limited.
