Neil-san brings up some good points. I hopefully didn't give the
impression that I ONLY read fics from authors I've read before; that's
not true. There's at least a dozen authors I'm currently doing some
prereading or C&Cing for at the moment. I rather like sending long and
drawn out (some authors who've received them might call them boring)
comments to authors who's fics I liked. Actually, at times, it's not
even necessarily that I like the fics, but more that I think their idea
is great, and I want to encourage them to improve the fic. I'm sure my
wealth of energy directed towards writing C&C is a result of me being
fairly new on the scene, but I hope it never runs out. For those of you
non-authors (and even you authors), don't look down on sending comments.
Sure, it might take a while at times, and you don't really see the point
in it, but trust me, you do get something out of it. For those authors
that actually do return my C&C, I gain a lot of new insights into their
fics that I never thought of. Surprisingly enough, it's actually helped
to improve my crtiques of various fics when I send reviews to various
authors; I've learned what to look for, what I enjoy in a fic, and what I
don't.

Basically what I'm saying is that I encourage all of you to write some
C&C to the author of a fic you like. Don't bother doing it for a fic you
didn't enjoy; there's no point in trying to write about something you
have no feelings toward. But try to put some effort into commenting on a
fic you did enjoy. Point out some things you thought were interesting,
and how it helped the story. Maybe make some suggestions on what you'd
like to see done with the fic. Sure, they more often than not the
suggestion isn't taken, but it always gives the author a new perspective
to think about. I'm not saying all your C&C's have to be pages long, but
at least try to put together a paragraph or so. Try to avoid "I loved
it! It was great. See ya!" Sure, it's nice to get C&C like that, and
I'm not trying to discourage anyone from sending comments, but just
hoping that everyone tries to let an author know when you've read and
enjoyed their fic. Anyway, another all-nighter and well worth it. Just
read "Oh My God??" -- Series 1, 2, and 3. I've got one more series to
go. *yawn* I highly recommend people reading it. For any AMS (Aa!
Megami-sama) fans out there, you'll love this, especially the Urd fans.
(hehehehe.... Urd-sama....... *drool*). <KEVIN NO HENTAI!!!> Err,
gomen ne. After reading 1.18mb of a series starring Urd-sama as one of
the main chars, it's hard not to fall in love with her. Especially the
way Brett-sama... err, Mr. Handy... err, the God of Destiny... err, BRETT
HANDY THE AUTHOR OF THE FIC writes her. Damn, I'm loosing it. Anyway,
everyone go check out "Oh My God??" at <http://www.ozanime.com/> in the
fanfiction section. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed. Oh, and
the latest series can be found at the FFML Mini-Archive at
<http://members.tripod.com/~meridun/index.html>. Look under the title
"Who's A God?" *sigh* Can't wait to finish it. C&C is on the way,
Brett-san. Ja, mata ne!
