[Note: I changed nothing in chapter 11a, just a lot of fighting. And a
little cleaning up here and there. Besides, the more important events
happen in this chapter anyway.]

Seraphim's Judgment:
Part 11b:
Big Trouble in Tiny Tokyo

Nodoka folded Seraphim's limp arms across the departed angel's stomach
and said a silent prayer for her. Then, her head turned to the direction
of Seraphim's killer, and her eyes began to glow red. The thrusters on
the small of her back exploded to life as she flew straight to the giant
EVA, screaming at the top of her lungs.

Rei was about to charge the EVA again when she saw a sparkle pass by
her. It turned out to be an 8-foot katana, flying at a speed that most
wouldn't be able to see. The blade landed into the virtual center of the
white EVAs body, and settled inside to the hilt of the sword. It's
owner, in a blue corona, flew right behind it as the EVA was distracted,
grabbed the hilt and yanked downwards, opening the skin to reveal the
multiple S2 unit within.

Comprehending, Rei ran forward, dodged a few fists from her foe and
stabbed her knife straight at the center. Yet, it merely bounced off as
the only chance Rei had to beat it was lost and she was beaten away.

Like with the 17th angel, several plates opened on Nodoka's body and a
blue colored power began to develop. Yet, her time grew short as the
wound she had inflicted had begun to close. She took the sides of the
opened wound, ripped them apart again, and held them there. Just as the
EVA was about to grab her from the open region of its heart, all the
power she had gathered exploded outward and into the mutated S2 unit.

The resulting explosion had the same, if not more, intensity than an N2
mine. Rei was thrown back into one of the buildings husks and saw the
few remaining limbs of the monster EVA fly this way and that. If she
could see within the smoke, she would have seen Teknos Katana looking
much worse than ever.

Nodoka's eyes returned to their standard blue color and when she began
to fall. Only then did she realize her error. Her last attack had taken
up far too much strength. In fact, she felt everything go dark as she
plummeted to the earth. The weakened body crashed onto the husk of an
abandoned tank, sending more debris everywhere.

"Nodoka-san! Nodoka-san!" Sera yelled as she ran through the littered
battlefield to where her ally had landed. Ripping apart the useless
piece of metal, she dragged out the motionless Nodoka. Laying Nodoka on
her back, Sera tried to revive her friend by using the same technique
that all Teknos healers could use. Only she had no strength left to do
so, and shook the elder woman.

Opening her eyes, Nodoka could barely make out Seraphina's shape in
what little she could see. Her eyes were now a much dimmer blue than the
usual. Sera breathed a sigh of relief as she saw that there was still
life in her. Yet, her joy was short lived as Nodoka said, "Sera... tell
my family... that I hope to meet them again, someday..." Sera began to
protest, but she and her words were too faint to hear. Instead, Nodoka
saw only light and heard nothing else, it was all warm and soothing.

Then, darkness was all that was seen in the helmet of Nodoka Saotome,
who died as Teknos Katana.

Sera shook her head, still denying that Nodoka was dead. She continued
to say no as she tore off her helmet, along with Nodoka's, and started
to commence CPR. As long as there was a little spark of hope left, she
was not going to just let her friend die.

In one of the darkened corners of NERV, a single figure was walking up
to the surface. Reina had finally gotten rid of that blasted guard that
was to take her out of here. The guard was still sleeping peacefully and
would not even notice her escape. She wanted to see the battle and none
of these people would stop her. That was she discovered that she was
being followed, as if she cared. Reina turned to see her stalker pull
out a handgun. She took a single passive look at the weapon and then its
owner.

"You don't really expect me to follow you. Do you?"

"Well, actually, that's why I was sent here to bring you back to my
employers. Since the other one is out there, you might as well do."

Reina narrowed her eyes, "I think not." And turned away. Grumbling, the
kidnapper aimed a bullet at her foot and fired, which only bounced off
the AT Field at Reina's back. Turning back, Reina said, "You're trying
my patience." The man fired more shots that met the same fate as the
first bullet. With a single glance from Reina, the gun shattered into
all its basic metal components and fell to the ground.

Before the captor could even think about charging after her, he found
himself beginning to lift off the ground, almost as if several hands had
hoisted him up by the neck. Breath was suddenly hard to come by. All
that the man could see in Reina's evil gaze was contempt.

"Just keep in mind... yours and the lives of others mean nothing to
me." Just as quickly as she had that unearthly hold on him, it vanished
and she returned to her trek to the surface.

*************************************************

"Sir! We got a breach in the upper levels in the Geofront!" Shigeru
yelled.

"What?" Misato almost screamed looking over his shoulder, <Great! What
else can go wrong? > Once she saw the current movement of UN troops, she
nearly paled. The traps and defenses were supposed to hold them off for
longer than this. Now, UN troops wee beginning to pour in and there was
no way to stop them.

"Alright, begin the evacuation! Try and hold them off as long as
possible!" she growled. A small voice from the radio replied, "No
problem Katsuragi. I got a little ordinance here that might just be able
to help out."

	"Kaji?"

	"The one and only."

"Where'd you vanish to... you creep!"

"After everyone found out about my little secret. I headed back to my
employers. They weren't exactly happy to see me. So, I hid for awhile
and now I'm back and better than ever!"

"Kaji..." Misato said with adoration for his courage. Yet, his rather
sultry response changed all that.

"Just make sure that you'll have a drink with me when this is all over,
ok? I got lonely and missed you. That's another reason why I'm back."

Then, her adoration vanished like an ice cube in coffee. Gnashing her
teeth, Misato swore underneath her breath, "Kaji no baka!" Then she took
the mike and screamed into it, "JUST GET YOUR USELESS @$$ DOWN THERE!!"

"Roger that... and it looks like you never lost any of the charm
that..."

"Just get moving or I'm gonna be the one who's gonna kill you!!"

*************************************************

Outside, Rei and Touji had assisted in the assault on the final two
deformed EVAs. Yet, Shinji and Asuka were not doing any better with or
without them. Shinji's EVA collapsed after being struck several times to
the small of his back. He looked up to see the blade of Touji's prog
sword pierce the center of the main body.

"Shinji! Get the red thing in there! Quick!!" Touji said over the
radio. Touji then started to attack the other arms that tried to get a
hold of him while Shinji tore open the skin of the EVA and found the red
multi-sphere. With what little strength he had left, he cocked his fist
back and punched right into the heart of the S2 unit. Then, putting his
foot on the other EVAs knee, he yanked the organ out, killing the
monster.

Looking up, Shinji could not help but breathe a sigh of relief with the
enemy EVA dead. Touji knelt down to help his friend up and pointed at
the remaining mutated EVA.

Asuka's plea for help was answered when Rei leaped on the back of the
remaining EVA and held back as many arms as she could. Asuka thanked the
albino and then started to attack the body of the EVA with all her
strength. Her attack was soon joined as Touji and Shinji ganged up on
the remaining white monstrosity. It would have met its end, until it
opened one of it's mouths and roared the same way the other EVAs did.

One by one, it threw its attacks off. With all the NERV EVAs out of the
way, it stood still and spread its arms wide. Not at all knowing what
was going on, the four Children stared as the remains of the other dead
EVAs crawled and floated to the final EVA.

*************************************************

From one of the few remaining streets in Tokyo-3, Reina watched the
strange happenings with no surprise. <So, they don't give up do they? >
She looked up to one of the few remaining standing buildings and, like
Kaworu, flew up to the roof.

Staring at the last EVA, her eyes narrowed. This was not good.

*************************************************

Everyone in NERV, as well as the Children, looked on as the last parts
of the other EVAs fused with the only standing EVA. Gendou's eyes
widened when he saw the dead S2 organ fly into the EVAs chest. That was
when he realized their hesitation had caused their downfall.

The EVA then spasmed and fell to it's knees. The power of four S2
organs streamed through out its body as its wings grew out of its back.
Instantly, all of its wounds were healed. Then, the feathers of the
usual wings fell off and revealed them black and leathery, more similar
to demons than angels.

Its central face's smile turned upward into a hideous grin any that
beheld it was almost staring into the face of death itself.

Almost as if it just gained consciousness, it looked at its
surroundings. After a few seconds, it then looked downward, staring
where its target was. Raising an arm, the EVA plunged its hand deep
within the ground, which extended far beyond its original length.

By then, Rei had retrieved the Lancea and joined her companions as they
had no clue as to what the EVA was doing.

Yet, within NERV, what it was doing was a little more than apparent.
The hand pierced through the pyramid and into the deeper levels of
Dogma.

Standing up, he nearly screamed to the three comm officers, "Change the
first order to hold them off. Order all hands to drop everything to
evacuate. Everyone get out as soon as possible!" They did not hesitate
to punch in the commands for the computers to order the final evacuation
order.

"One more thing." Gendou said. "Get the auto-destruct sequence ready
for delayed reaction."

This time, it was Ristuko who spoke up, "But sir, you can't! This
is..." Gendou stared her down and he continued.

"We'll set it for about a half an hour before the explosion takes place
and set it to silence. That way, we can get away from the UN troops
without letting them take Dogma or the Magi."

Fuyutsuki nodded in agreement, where as Misato responded, "But do you
know how many..."

"Yes, I am aware that it will most likely kill most of them, if not all
of them. But if you've forgotten, they have orders to shoot us. So we
have no choice."

That silenced anymore arguments against it. The four of them walked up
to Makoto's empty console and pressed a sequence of buttons that
revealed a secret panel with the Nerv insignia on it.

Misato leaned forward and spoke into the panel, "Initiate Magi/Dogma
destruct sequence. On authorization code Mary, 527A 935B 163C." The
panel showed the code that Misato spoke of and she stepped back.

[Magi/Dogma Destruct sequence, Level 1, passed.]

Ristuko leaned forward and spoke. "Initiate same sequence. On
authorization code Ruth, 108A 836B 524C." <Sorry Okaasan. I don't want
to do this... but I must. >

[Magi/Dogma Destruct sequence, Level 2, passed.]

This time, it was Fuyustuki's turn. "Initiate same sequence. On
authorization code Samuel, 637A 974B 153C."

{Magi/Dogman Destruct sequence, Level 3, passed. Final authorization
required for final time setting and auto-destruction.]

The other three moved away from the panel as Gendou stepped forward.

"Final authorization code Joseph, 284A 489B 763C. Time index delay,
0030."

With that, a small screen that said 30 minutes on it replaced the
panel. Stepping back, Gendou pulled out his gun and shot the only
indicator of how much time they had left.

"Now, let's get out of here!"

*************************************************

Back up in Tokyo-3, or what was left of it, the Children attempted
another attack on the last enemy Evangelion, but to no avail, for every
attack was simply batted away like a fly. Eventually, It continued to do
so, until it yanked out a giant cross from the ground and with it the
same giant white figure that Kaworu had tried to get to.

The EVA put the cross on the ground and then appeared to be looking for
something else... until its newly formed eyes saw Rei and her EVA. With
every step, the Earth around it seemed to shake, as its new objective
became a little too apparent to its foes.

Shinji, Asuka, and Touji blocked the EVAs path in response.

*************************************************

Back on one of the last standing building of Tokyo-3, Reina watched
everything with definite interest. Now the EVA from SEELE was trying its
own Impact, using Lillith and her older sister.

Well, it looked like she had to do something now, didn't she?

Taking a deep breath, her eyes changed the colors the same way Rei and
Kaworu did when they spoke. Only this time, she was talking in the
general direction of Lillith, who had it's face turned to her. After
several hisses and whispers, Reina smiled. Now all she needed was her
sisters.

*************************************************

"Rei, get out of here. Don't worry about us, just make sure that it
doesn't get you." Shinji cried. Rei was about to protest when Shinji
reminded, "I promised you that I'd come back. Remember?" That silenced
her. She nodded, forced the Lancea into Shinji's hands, and ran the
other way.

Seeing Rei safe, Shinji turned back to see the approaching demonic EVA
and stood his ground. He wasn't going to run away anymore. Then, after
the next step it took, he charged.

*************************************************

Rei didn't want to run and abandon Shinji, but she had no choice. It
was after her and no one else. She never forgot the promise they made,
but against a foe like this... they needed a miracle.

<I don't know about a miracle, but maybe we have the next best thing. >

Rei and the soul within her EVA turned to see in the distance a face
they thought they would never see. Rei magnified her view several times
to see her younger sister, Rei III, with a dark smile on her face.

Koorichi then floated up beside Rei and answered back. <What are you
talking about? >

In response, Reina only replied two words. <Pax Deorum. >

*************************************************

Back at the battle, hopes for victory of the Children were fading fast
as the demonic EVA beat then at every turn.

Shinji was forced into the ground and the monster EVA landed on the
small of his back, causing pain to course through his veins. In another
pair of arms, it held Touji's EVA by the neck and began to strike the
front of the head repeatedly. On the ground next to it, Asuka's EVA lay
beaten, with it's umbilical cord ripped off and was almost out of power.

All of a sudden the wind picked up and it carried with it an air of
power that it made the demon EVA stop its assault. As if there were
other forces beyond that of humanity that were gathering against it.
That's when it began to hear what appeared to be a single voice.

~ Domineo veniteo... sacramentum eodeo ~

The demon EVA looked to the northern distance to see Rei III perched
atop the only standing building, singing those same words on the same
key at a set pace. Covered within an aura of light. Yet, her dark
expression spoke otherwise of the glow about her. She meant to kill, to
attack, and to destroy those who dared to threaten her.

This particular chant was a song of power so great that it not only
required more than one caster; but a target and a power source many
times that of the casters. The source of its power began to glow
directly below the EVA. With a power source as great as Lillith... there
was hardly any bounds for them to cross. That, is the power of the
angels.

~ Domineo veniteo... sacramentum eodeo ~

~ Domineo veniteo... sacramentum eodeo ~

The second chant was from another voice that the EVA heard. It turned
again to the southeast where it saw Rei II, standing on a road. Covered
in an aura of light, she sung behind her sister at the same tone and
pace.

Rei II did not know the details behind this all. Yet, it was a nature
that was so clear to her, she knew it all precisely. Somehow, she felt
that it was the genes of Lillith that had imbued her with this unearthly
talent. That enabled her to speak with Kooriichi so easily, that had
enabled her to speak with Tabris in their true tongue.

Despite the questions, she knew what she was doing. She meant to find
truth. And in order to find the truth and her freedom, she needed to go
through this demon.

~ Domineo veniteo... sacramentum eodeo ~

Those same two small chants were repeated by the two Reis as a third
joined in the chorus.

~ Domineo veniteo... sacramentum eodeo ~ (Rei II & III)

~ athair arneam... athair arneam hdialinn ~ (Rei I)

It turned once more to the southwest to see a glowing blue light
hovering above the motionless body of Unit 00.

Though she had no chance of earning freedom or defending herself, she
had a reason of her own to do this. To protect. Knowing more than what
others did, she took it upon herself to defend others from the fate that
the innocent suffered in 2000.

~ Domineo veniteo... sacramentum eodeo ~

~ athair arneam... athair arneam hdialiom ~

Then, all three chorused the first chant, only with much more power that
began to manifest itself in a triangle of light, with the demon EVA in
the center. The brightness only increased as the third Rei began another
chant as the other two sung support notes to stabilize the power.

~ Omnem crede diam tibi diluxisse supremum ~

The demon EVA released the Children and started to distort and shake
without control. Then, the third Rei narrowed her eyes more and
whispered the final line of the chant.

~ Domineo veniteo ~

Then, the demon EVA screamed with a pain that no human could understand,
expanded and then vanished into the triangle shaped pyramid of light,
leaving the Children unharmed. Rei II and III collapsed with exhaustion
onto their bottoms while the first simply faded back into its prison.

By then, the personnel of NERV had come outside to witness the
indescribable event that just occurred. Not only them, the other three
Children had stared in awe of the three who had saved them. Shinji
turned to where Rei was... the Rei that he knew and promised. He
magnified the image and saw her sitting on the edge of the road, smiling
at him. He breathed a sigh of relief and lay back in the seat of the
entry plug.

"Hey! Look!" Touji said pointing to the cross that Lillith once hung
upon. Only, the aforementioned thing and the Lancea Longini was gone.
All that remained was the two spikes that used to hold the hands of it
in the cross.

Rei turned to her younger sister, "What happened exactly?"

Reina only smirked and replied, "I made a deal with Lillith. It would
help us if it could find ANY way out of this world. Using the Pax
Deorum, we sent it up to Heaven to face its judgment in front of God
himself!" With that she started to laugh. Rei on the other hand didn't
find it so funny.

"So, you used Lillith, giving her hope of escape, only to send her to
her end?"

Reina smiled innocently, "Oh relax. Lillith was desperate, I don't
think she even cared WHERE she went. Just as long as she got out of
here." With that, she 'hopped' from the top of the building to the
ground. Rei could not understand how her sister could be so cruel.

Just then, an explosion rocked the very ground they all stood on.
Shinji wondered what it was until he tried to raise Central Dogma. Then
he started to get worried that they were all gone. He began to grow
fearful of his father and guardian's safety.

Movement on his left caught his attention and he magnified it enough
times to see most of the NERV personnel was out and all right. He
breathed another sigh of relief and went to go pick up Rei.

Among the people from NERV, wounds slight and severe were being treated
to. Among them, Maia was trying to bandage Makoto's left arm, which had
been shot a few times, but his child-like sobbing made it quite
difficult.

Most of the rest of the head personnel made it without too much pain,
but there were a few casualties.

On a hospital cot, Kaji laid with bandages over his head and right arm.
Misato had forgiven him enough to talk to him.

"For a second there, I thought you abandoned us Kaji."

"How could I? I know I'm scum, but I'm not that low!"

"Anyway, that was really brave of you, turning against the government
to help us and all."

"Ah, don't worry about it. Besides, if I was going to be killed, I'd
rather have it be by some beautiful woman, not just some guy."

Misato narrowed her eyes, "You know, that attitude is going to kill you
someday," with that she kicked his cot over, "...and if THAT doesn't
kill you, I WILL!"

Leaning on his good arm, he said to her, "Now I know you love me." His
only response was her foot on his face.

	"PUT A SOCK IN IT!"

*************************************************

Stepping out of his powerless EVA, Shinji took a look around the
city... or what was left of it. He took another look at the entry plug,
still filled with LCL. That was when it hit him, the EVAs were no longer
needed. With all the angels dead, there didn't seem to be any use for
them anymore.

Now the question came...

	What now?

End of Chapter 11b

[Warhammer comes out of the light.]

WH: {Revision notes} I surmise people were confused at the whole, Rei
Trinity casting a chant that Kaworu listed in an earlier chapter. My
reasons? I always thought that the Reis knew about each others, on a
subconcious level. And if I am accused of trying to add a little bit of
mysticism into EVA, then I am guilty.

Continuing with the Rei Trinity, each sister I would
surmise, would have a different ideal, purpose, and motivation
individually.

The equation that I figured out during the Pax Deorum went a
little like this: the Trinity of Rei(a) cannot summon enough power to
destroy the enemy, so using Lillith(b) as an amplifier and power source,
they can neutralize the Demon EVA(c). The additional factor, being the
Lancea Longini(d), was a tool to be used as stabilizer for the Third
Impact. So, in this case, it was the factor that prevented Tokyo-3 from
becoming a n even bigger valley or another section of the pacific ocean.

Translated into numbers and using a greater force as a
dominating win/lose position, it would go something like this: {(a X b)
+ d} < c. Meaning that that at the end, the greater power, belongning to
the Trinity, the Lancea, and Lillith, overpowered the Demon EVA. And if
your confused, take a nap, 'cause that's what I'm doing.

Now, for those of you who noticed the change in what happened at
Nodoka's death, you'll see the result in the next chapter and a little
more than that.

{Original notes}And I thought that chapter 9 were draining! This one was
worse! Now at least we know how Reina behaves and how she will probably
be for a while.

Next, in order to make sure that there's no more chances for this story
to end like the anime and movie did, I took out one of the major thorns.
Meaning SEELE. Who'd of thought that the puppets would rebel and kill
their master? I sure did! What? There's still the UN? Don't worry, I've
taken care of that.

At first, I was considering adding an expanded ground troop war between
NERV and UN troops, but it would just make it longer, meaning that it
would have taken longer to finish this! Besides, some of these people
deserve to live, even though I'd love to put Kaji through a little more
pain for what he did in the past. Oh well, we don't get to do ALL the
things we want to I guess.

If some of you have been wondering, what happened to Kaji? Well, here's
your answer.

I think I just made the production EVAs only more obnoxious by the fact
that they weren't as easy to kill at first for Asuka in the anime. But I
know their dead, so let us rejoice!

Star Trek III inspired me for the Magi/Dogma destruct ordeal. And here
I thought those movies would never inspire me. HA!

Also, for those who don't know what Pax Deorum is... who'd of thought
Enya's music would be so useful in this. The song is in the "In Memory
of Trees" album, FYI. Very dark for Enya.

What's everyone to do now? With the victory over both the UN and SEELE,
what is left for the people of Tokyo-3? Find out in the last chaper
