Alright, this was written up yesterday, while taking a break for an hour. 
I looked at the complaints of people using the same idea millions of times
over, and figured "Why not post this?"  So, I humbly present my first
spamfic...


			Portrait of a Rejected Man


Why?
Why can't she admit that I am the only one for her?
She calls me blind.  They all say I am blind to the realities.  But I know
that through my I truly see what was meant to be.
She calls me a fool.  They all say I am a fool.  But does a fool not
deserve love?

Is it my looks?  But surely, she cannot fault me for that.  And there are
those who would consider me handsome...
Surely, she can see how I have worked.  Years of practice, honing my
fighting skills, slashing and clawing my way toward the title of the best. 
Amongst our peers, I had been the best, the brightest, the star of my
world, beaten only by her.  It would have been only a matter of time,
before I could defeat her, and make her mine...

And then, he came, and ruined everything!
The accursed Satome Ranma!  He defeated her, casually, not recognizing
the great victory he achieved.  He threw dirt in the face, belittling her
achievements!  And then, she falls in love with him?!
How can he have bewitched like that? How does he do such things?  Why?
What is his magic? ...
Can she not see the pain that I would go through for her?  That I already
have gone through for her?  Have I not proven myself to her a thousand
times, to defend her honor with the blade, knowing that I will be
defeated?

Yet today, I know in my heart that I will best him, for I have trained
with a Master of the Arts.   Though his penchant for undergarments of the
fair sex is deplorable, I shall use his lessons for the path of Honor.
The path of Glory!  The path of Heaven!

SATOME, YOU WRETCH!  I GIVE THEE ONE LAST CHANCE TO RELEASE THY HOLD UPON
THE FAIR AKANE.  SUBMIT, OR FACE THE WRATH OF HEAVEN VISITED BY THE BLUE

Auth's Notes:

Bet you thought that was Mousse at first.  How far'd you get before you
figured it out?  Please respond!  The "She calls me blind" line is not
meant to be taken literally.  I mean, Kuno sees Ranma change everyday, but
just doesn't -see-.  If that isn't considered blind... 
 
Well, you've read the other Mousse Introspection 'fics.  Mousse either
goes postal, or his skill and dedication eventually win him the love of
Shampoo, who suddenly realizes the amount of ridicule he goes through in
her name.  But isn't the life of Kuno Tatewaki similar to his? 

Think about it.  Kuno's the master of his particular Art, who challenges
the one he loves to win her favor, and to prove his skill to her.  In one
of the Ranma OAV's (I don't know which one, I just saw a short clip), he
has just been punched by Ranma-chan, and muses on how the "depths of his
pain he endures to prove his love". These are the same tactics that Mousse
attempts with Shampoo.  They both have no pride.  Feh.  Pathetic, both of
them.

The two may not be completely the same; Mousse didn't incite all the boys
in the village to attack Shampoo daily, but all this just shows that Kuno
is an idiot in love.  And I deliberately paraphrased a quote from a well
written "Mousse 'fic" (don't remember which one, because I've read them so
long ago...)  to address that very reason (Even funny duck-men deserve
love -> But does a fool not deserve love?). 

Anyway, this is my reaction to those who claim that Mousse deserves a
break from Shampoo.  I respect everyone's opinions, but if you're going to
argue with that logic, you should fairly apply it to characters in the
same situations. Do you feel that Kuno "deserves a break" from Akane? 

C&C welcome.  Flames are not.  If you think I'm wrong, don't flame me; 
write a witty fic that tells me -why- I'm wrong.  Also, if anyone knows
the Mousse fanfic that I paraphrased the line from, please let me know!
