Explorations on nature vs. nurture, anyone?
cloning and such all depends on your view of Ranma's curse.. does it give
him a female body? or does it change his into a female form? if it's the
first then Onna-Ranma is of absolutely no relation (unless Nodoka happens to
be 1500 yrs old and daughter of the girl who drowned in Nyannichuan), else,
it's just like having a child with a sibling, as cloning is done by using
the DNA of the person you want to clone and inserting that into the ovum,
therefore it only has 1 set of genes to look at .. and anything that is
dominant in that is also dominant in the clone... whereas in this case it
would be two sets of genes, Onna-Ranma and Ranma himself, so therefore their
is the chance that the child will inherit a recessive gene, which is the
case we have here.. therefore it's definately not cloning.. as for the
nature vs nurture.. that only applies to mental developement, in which case
nature would definately dictate for someone much like Ranma (unless of
course the offspring gets recessive cognitive traits), except for the impact
of society and the entire macrosystem...
anyways.. back to the point.. the child in this case (Ranma as father and
mother), will definately inherit male Ranma's genes, as well as female
Ranma's.. which remains to be seen whether it's close to his own, or
extremely different.. judging from Onna-Ranma's appearance; short, extremely
busty, red hair (anime at least). in comparison to Nodoka (yes i know Genma
has something to say on this outcome but let's go with her for now), who is
about a head taller (more?), brownish hair, developed but not to the same
extremity (although this can be overlooked by the fact that she wears very
traditional clothes), it seems unlikely that Onna-Ranma is related to Ranma
in any other way than sharing a body. if this is true, then the child should
have black or brown hair (red being recessive i believe), a bit taller than
Ranma (if male), or Onna-Ranma (a bit bigger difference, if female), as the
average height is always growing, so must the people.
well.. i wrote way too much on this subject.. all i can hope is for the
author (sorry forgot name already.. school and all that, good enough
excuse?) continues this.. and gives us the answer he feels is right..
