Thanks for the C&C AJ. It got me thinking about some aspects of the story
and areas that may need explaination. He's my response to your comments to
help explain why I wrote what I wrote:

1) Miyu's job isn't to send _all_ the Shinma back to the Dark, just the
ones that escaped when she and her mother ran off when Miyu was going to
take the mantle of Guardian.

This is mainly a plot of my own creation. I've only seen the anime and
not read the manga, so I had to make some stuff up. I might not be exactly
what the creators of VPM had in mind, but hey, ppl have changed Ranma plots
and storylines that what I've done is fairly minor. :)

2) Should she send all the escaped Shinma back Miyu's job will be to
guard against further intrusion by other Shinma, her parents will be freed
>from stasis, and she will begin to age like a normal Vampire (remember the
Vampire Clan of Shinma are mortal which is why they were chosen as the
guardians, they can't grow old enough to become extremely powerful).
3) Miyu doesn't talk like that, it's too much like a speech and she seems
to be fishing for sympathy, neither of which she does.

In the anime, we very rarely see a private moment between Miyu and Larva.
I did some thinking about her situation and how a person might feel. I
assume she's been a vampire for about 50 years absoute tops. (The tech of
Japan from before she became a vampire indicated an industrialized society,
so she couldn't have been a vampire for 100s of years.) Imagine how you
might feel if you had had a position thrust upon you that you didn't want
and forced to live in the body of a small girl for decades. I'd want to
end it ASAP too! :)

1) Miyu is about 12 physically, Japanese High School begins at age 15,
Miyu looks about three years too young.
Oh, okay. I wasn't sure what age she was. I might decide to fudge the
ages a little or change the beginning of the story.

2) Small nit; family names come before personal names in Japan.

I know, but hey I'm from north america, and when in rome, do as the
romans. Bedsides, it keeps down the confusion for those ppl who don't know
that.

Miyu is extremely selective about the people she drinks from. Beauty is
only part of her selection process. From Ep1: Miyu drains people with a
death wish because they have nothing else to live for and they live
forever in a fantasy world of their own making. From Ep2: Miyu drains
people who wish to preserve their physical beauty and they also live
forever in a fantasy world of their own. Ranma matches neither of these
cases.

They were kind of iffy in that stuff in the episodes. In ep2 Himiko
remarks that Miyu is always after a pretty one, and Miyu responds 'of course.'

1) Akane's not _quite_ this judgemental. Unless Miyu actively pursues
Ranma, or Ranma does more than look Akane's not going to go balistic.

I don't know why so many ppl underestimate Akane's jealousy. Mabye it's
because I've just seen the english dubbed anime, but she is (in my opinion)
one of the most judgemental ppl in the Ranmaverse.

2) Akane's wouldn't admit to herself that she sees herself as Ranma's
fiancee.

I think she would admit it (even if just to herself), but not that she
wants to be ranma's fiancee.

When was the last time Miyu need Larva to defeat a Shinma? If you'll
remember, from Ep3, Miyu _destroyed_ a Shinma that was more powerful than
Larva, with apparently little effort.

It's not that she needed help, but the pair's roles seem to be well
defined. Miyu hunts them down, and Larva banishs them, and Miyu destroys
them if she feels it necessary (or if she wants to).

Thanks tons for the input!
