OK, there's the obvious reasons, but think about it for a moment.
Ayeka's father has two wives.  It's not inconcievable that the physical
relationship between Azusa, Misaki and Funaho is as a group rather than
as two seperate pairs.
That being said, wouldn't Ayeka already be predisposed to accept such an
arrangement?  Take it to the extreme - it it's normal Juraian practice,
she may be expecting it.  She may have even been TRAINED for it.

    Here's the thing, while Ayeka is used to the idea, and shown as not
being adverse...Episode 5... Ayeka: Our father made the law, that after him
we should mix blood with other planets... it's the other candidate that she
has a problem with. She obviously has no desire to share Tenchi with "that
woman!" At least at the beginning of the series, in fact, she shows a very
hateful attitude toward her... Epi 5 Ayeka: You certainty do NOT have to go
and rescue her!

    Of course, considering that she saw Ryoko devastate her planet and steal
her Yousho from her, it's easy to see why she'd have problems seeing the
pirate as anything other then a monster. Maybe she sees the whole Tenchi
affair as her chance to rescue her beloved, something she wasn't able to do
a few centuries past. Granted, their relationship has seemed to warm up and
I can see her accepting, after much deliberation, but actually instigating
seems a few years off.

Ryouko, on the other hand...

    Ryoko has already stated her willingness to share the boy... Epi 7
Ryoko: You can go first, it's okay, I don't care... and even protectiveness
toward her (when it really counted_ Epi 6 (Washu explains that Ryoko isn't
going full tilt to keep from vaporizing Ayeka, something that is costing her
dearly) Basically, she'd do ANYTHING for the boy... putting up with Ayeka
(who she could easily annihilate, see the sixth episode of each series) is
all part and parcel. Plus, I think she actually likes the girl ^_-

Just a little thought.

    And those are mine. Feel free to disregard. In fact, I'd love to see the
fic if it ever got written.
