When Ranma is female, she's quite short.  Look at her stand next to 
most anyone, and she's much shorter than they are.  There's one picture

Akane, on the other, while shorter than her sisters, seems to be of 
average height.  Compare her next to other men, and while she's shorter 
than they are, she doesn't have to quite crane her neck like Ranma 
does.  And Akane is about the same height as all the women her age - 
her classmates, Ukyo, Shampoo, etc.

*shrug* Yup.

	In one of the instances where Ranma-chan and Akane are
standing together, and compared with a male figure, it appears
that the two girls are the same height and quite a bit shorter
than the guy.  This can be found in the beginning of the
martial arts takeout contest, when Kuno holds both Ranma-chan
and Akane in his arms (and Ranma-chan's clenching a fist).

In the manga or in the anime?
 

And yet (and this really bothers me for some reason) whenever Ranma (as 
a woman) is drawn standing next to Akane, Ranma is *taller*.

Although you notice that a common synonym for "Ranma" in lemons is "the
shorter girl". n.-

No, seriously, though... Ranma 1/2, in my opinion, wasn't really meant to
be that serious of a series... which accounts, for instance, for the
inconsistencies in things like the cursed springs. (i.e.: Does the person
turn into a different version of himself, or into an exact copy of the old
form? Wasn't there a Spring of Drowned Akane at one point?) So, questions
like this are really a little pointless to debate, in my opinion. n.n
