Well all I can say on this for any writer attemtping to a Sailor
Moon/Ranma crossover is to look for the orginial idea to do it, and not
just go for Akane in Sailor Jupiters fuku. Look at some of the better
Ranma/SM fusions and you'll see they aren't just about getting Ranma cast
members into a fuku, they look at it from an intresting point of view.

Of course, I'm in favour of recasting everyone except Usagi.
Nene Romanova as Mercury.  Madoka Ayukawa as Mars.  Major
Makoto Kusanagi as Pluto.  Futana Shimeru as Uranus.

O_o...  The trouble with re-casts is that you often have an awful lot of
flashing around the mold lines...

Especially when you start placing more than one series together in the
mix. Your going to have to do a lot of changes to get the series to meld
together in a coherant understandble way. It's already difficult enough to
meld 2 series into 1, adding more into the mix would be a bit difficult...

Not to say it can't be done mind you, I've always had an idea going for a
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Pardoy where I've taken the chance to recast
everyone into the role of a Senshi. Never done it mind you, but it's
always been an idea...

(I would end up casting the roles like this...)

Sailor Moon/Usagi: Ryouko or Priss (Leaning away from Priss for obvious
reasons...:)
Sailor Mars/Rei: Skuld or Sakura (UY)
Sailor Mercury: Noa Izumi
Sailor Venus: Madoka Ayukawa (Because of Sailor V...Madoka was always a
loaner...)
Sailor Jupiter: Sakura (SFZ2) or Lum..

All done under the Stephan Tsai school of casting where it's better to go
for a match up that leads to humour than a really fitting one (AKA Akane
as Mercury...:)
