Summary:
Based off the anime episode 'Ranma's declaration of Womanhood',
Ranma still thinks he's a girl and falls for Kuno. Various
factions of the Ranma 1/2 show try to cure or keep Ranma the
way she is.

Hi, this is my first attempt of a fanfic. This is the first of
a couple chapters, and I hope all who read this enjoy it.

This story is based of the anime episode, 'Ranma's Declaration of
Womanhood,' and assumes that Ranma was *NOT* cured and still
     thinks he's a woman.

Constructive comments are greatly apprecieated and can be
     sent to abrown@imag.net.

Much thanks to my prereader Emmanuel Pohoreski for his
     helpful commentary and criticism.

All characters/items etc. not created by me are copywrite to the
     appropriate people.

     Ranma's Declaration of Womanhood II

A young man walked down the dark streets of Tokyo. Behind him,
the sun slowly rose, concealing his features in shadow. As the sun rose
from it's bed, the shadows receded, showing the man to be Ryoga Hibiki.
His eyes were closed in deep thought, as though contemplating the beauty
of the spring morning.
Suddenly, he stopped and looked up at the brightening sky. He
clenched his hands, his expression one of triumph.
[I'm ready!] thought Ryoga. [Today I'll defeat Ranma, and prove
my love for Akane.] As he thought of his secret, unrequited love, his
features softened. [Oh Akane. I've spent weeks training, getting ready
for this day. Today, I'll show you that I love you.]
Suddenly, Ryoga looked around in confusion. After a few moments
of looking vainly for a familiar landmark Ryoga roared in frustration,
"Curse you Ranma! Where the hell are you?"
Two blocks away, Kasumi Tendo looked up from washing the dishes.
"I wonder what that noise was."

Akane Tendo, heiress of the Tendo School of Anything Goes Martial
Arts walked to school beside her fianc‚, Ranma Saotome, the heir to the
Saotome School of Anything Goes Marital Arts. Or at least Ranma use to
be. Up until yesterday morning, all Ranma had ever wanted to do was to
train in the martial arts. However, due to an incident involving Ranma,
Akane, and a large rock, he now believed he was a girl and had no such
intentions in getting involved with martial arts. Now she wanted to become
a proper bride for a suitable man.
Akane wore her usual blue school uniform. Ranma, on the other
hand, also wore a girls blue school dress, instead of her usual Chinese
silk shirt and pants. She also had a blue ribbon interwoven through her
pigtail and was humming happily as she skipped along to school with Akane.
Akane did not look pleased, and she got angrier with each step she
took. Finally, in frustration she turned to Ranma and barked, "Will you
knock it off already?! That humming is really irritating! And what's with
the ribbon anyway?"
"I'm sorry Akane. I didn't mean to bother you," Ranma answered,
her voice light and feminine. "It's just such a wonderful day that I
can't help it. As for the ribbon, Kasumi said I looked so cute with it on
that I just had to wear it." She turned to Akane, slightly concerned.
"What do you think?"
Akane looked like she was swallowing something unpleasant as she
answered, trying not to hurt this 'new' Ranma's feelings. "Uh...yeah, it
looks great. Really...(sigh) cute."
Ranma squealed with delight and gave Akane a big hug. "Thank you
Akane. You're a real friend." Ranma skipped down the street towards
the main gates to the school.
Akane, however, looked like she had just been hit by a 2x4. Her eyes
were wide in surprise and her hands twitched slightly as she struggled
to regain her composure. Her expression quickly changed from one of
surprise to one of anger and indignation. She stormed down the street
and towards Ranma, who was just inside the main gate talking with two of
Akane's friends. She was almost within range when she heard a voice call
her name.
Searching for the source of the voice, she saw Ryoga running along
the wall of the school towards her. She immediately smiled at him and
waved. His smile grew, and he waved back. He finally reached her,
slightly out of breath.
"Am I glad I was able to find you!" he said excitedly.
	"Why is that Ryoga?"
Ryoga immediately became nervous, having suspected he had gone too
far in revealing his true feelings. "Why? Well... er... you see... what
I mean is..." He looked around quickly, obviously searching for something
or someone. [Come on, Ryoga. Tell her how you feel! Ranma's not here,
so use the opportunity before it's too late!] "Akane, I have something
very important to tell you!"
	"What is it Ryoga?"
"Ryoga?" Upon hearing Ryoga's name, Ranma poked her head around the
gate. When she saw him, she gave a cry of surprise and delight, and rushed
into his arms, giving him a big hug. " Hi Ryoga! I haven't seen you for
such a long time! Where have you been? Did you get me anything?" she
babbled.
If possible, Akane looked even more angry than before.
Ryoga's stunned expression matched that of Akane's a few minutes
before. He desperately pulled away trying to discover the identity of
this girl. It took only a moment to identify her and Ryoga was immediately
enraged. He jumped back about fifteen feet, whipped out his umbrella,
and flipped it open.
"You can't fool me twice Ranma! I've seen that disguise before!
I've spent weeks training for this moment and I will defeat you! Take
that!" He threw his umbrella with all his might at Ranma.
Ranma calmly ducked the spinning parasol and grabbed the handle.
"Ooooohh! A bamboo umbrella! It's so cute! Thank you so much Ryoga."
She pranced back onto the school grounds and along the inside of the wall
towards Akane's friends. "Hey girls, look what Ryoga got me!"
Ryoga stood there, trying to figure out what was going on. He
smiled deviously and walked to the outer side of the wall. "You won't
get away from me that easily." Noting Ranma's progress, when she was
directly opposite him, he touched the wall with a finger.
The wall exploded outward, enveloping both people. When the dust
cleared, Ryoga was standing over the sitting form of Ranma, smiling
triumphantly. Ranma looked up at Ryoga, then at the umbrella, which had
been knocked out of her hands by the explosion, and finally at the torn
and tattered condition of her clothes. With a sigh, her eyes rolled into
the back of her head, and she fainted.
"Ranma!" cried Akane. She rushed over to the fallen girl and began
frantically checking for injuries. Ryoga stood there, looking at his
fallen opponent in disbelief.
"Wh - what happened?" he asked. "That attack wasn't powerful enough
to take him out."
"She was injured yesterday. I'll tell you about it later. Right
now, we have to get her to Dr. Tofu!"
Kuno appeared virtually from nowhere and saw Ranma lying on the ground
unconscious. He gave a gasp of horror, took Ranma in his arms and held
her in a crushing embrace. "Pig-Tailed Girl! Who has assaulted you
most beauteous person? Who has snuffed out the bright candle which
burned within your soul? I, Tatkewaki Kuno, Blue Thunder of Furinken
High, do swear to bring the vile cur who did this to justice!" Blue
lightening crashed down from the cloudless skies striking a tree and
setting it ablaze.
	Akane slugged him.
Kuno toppled over, unceremoniously dropping Ranma. He was back on
his knees mere seconds later. "That hurt, you know," he told Akane calmly.
[Rats!] thought Akane. [I wanted to knock him out.] "Don't worry
Kuno. She seems to be okay, but I'd still like Dr. Tofu to take a look
at her."
"Yeah, I didn't hit her that hard, so take it easy," added Ryoga.
Kuno's eyes glinted dangerously as he looked up at Ryoga. "You are
the one who did this?" His eyes narrowed to mere slits. "The vengeance
of Heaven is slow but sure."
	"But we're not in Heaven."
	"Exactly."
Kuno swung his sword in a wicked horizontal slash, but Ryoga jumped
high over the attack. He landed just in time to side step a vertical
strike. Reversing his previous jump, he managed to avoid an upward
cross-body attack. He landed beside Ranma and Akane and picked up his
umbrella. Parrying the next attack by Kuno, he launched his own series
of strikes.
They fenced for a minute or two, and it became apparent that Kuno
was winning. With a flurry of strokes, he forced Ryoga back against a
tree. Ryoga side stepped a stab, and the point of Kuno's sword embedded
itself in the tree. Ryoga took advantage or Kuno's misfortune and knocked
him across the yard and into the school's outer wall. Kuno, to his credit,
was able to keep a hold on his sword as he fell to the ground and stumbled
back to his feet. He ducked a stab by Ryoga, and hit him with a slash
across his chest. Ryoga stepped back, his hand on his chest. His shirt
was cut and he had a shallow gash that was bleeding slightly. Ryoga
jumped back out of the way of another slash. The two combatants stood
glaring at each other across the lawn, each waiting for the other to make
the next move.
By this time, Ranma had regained consciousness.
"Ooooh...oh my! What happened?" asked Ranma.
	You don't remember?" asked Akane.
"I remember an explosion of some sort...what are they doing?"
"They're just fighting. Ignore them Ranma. Let's go to Dr. Tofu's."
Ranma rose to her feet, her face alarmed. "No! They shouldn't be
fighting. Violence is never the answer!" She ran and placed herself
between Ryoga and Kuno. "Please, no more fighting! Can't we all just get
along?"
Kuno dropped his sword and leapt towards her. His face was one of
ecstatic joy and tears were pouring from his eyes. "My love, you are
unharmed! Reward my devotion to you by allowing me to date with you!"
"EEEEEEEEEK!!" Ranma cringed away from Kuno. At the same time,
her arm shot outward and engulfed his face in a blur of palms. There was
a loud detonation as Ranma's hand surpassed the speed of sound.
[Wow! She's unconsciously using the Chestnut Fist to defend
herself!] thought Akane.
After a few moments, Ranma stopped. She stood where she was, her
arm outstretched, her palm smoking slightly. Kuno collapsed, his face
a mass of palm shaped bruises. With a wail, Ranma ran to Akane and fell
into her arms.
"Why are all these people attacking me?" she cried. She began to
weep hysterically against Akane's shoulder.
"Uh...there, there Ranma," replied Akane awkwardly. "You're okay, so
stop crying all right?" Other students around her began to mutter in
confusion.
     "Who is that girl?"
"That's Ranma Saotome, Ranma's twin sister. Weren't you at the
match between her and Kudachi Kuno?"
"That was her? She took on the Black Rose? You wouldn't know it by
the looks of her now."
Akane had to get Ranma out of here fast before people started to put two
and two together. She gave Ryoga a pointed glare. "You can come to Dr.
Tofu's too." With a hysterical Ranma and a confused Ryoga in tow, Akane
left Furinken High.

End of Chapter 1

I got this idea after watching the anime episode 'Ranma's Declaration of
Womanhood'. I loved it, and prayed that it would continue on so I could
see how the other characters reacted. Unfortunately, that was not to
be so, so I got to thinking and wrote this.
