Part VIII
Chapter 19 - Good-bye Part 1

Chibi-Usa nervously approached Michael, unsure of what to exactly say.
<Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I think I should go back to Usagi
and tell her he couldn't come.> She started to turn away and was about
to head off back down the beach when Michael's voice brought her to an
abrupt halt.

"Chibi-Usa-chan?!?" There was surprise and a hidden trace of something
else. <She came back!>

Chibi-Usa flushed bright red and looked at the ground without turning
around. <I knew this was a bad idea. I acted like a brat. I bet he
thinks I'm a baby and that Usagi changed me like one too!> This caused
her to blush even more.

"You know, Chibi-Usa-chan," Michael quipped from in front of Chibi-Usa,
"If you keep doing that, some poor guy is going to try and land a plane
here."

Chibi-Usa opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. After
a few moments she gave a nervous giggle. <Oh great! Now I can't even
talk to him. He must think I'm baka.> She tried desperately to stop her
blushing but she only partially succeeded. <Please, Kami-sama, don't let
him notice how embarrassed I am!> Looking up she saw that Michael was
looking at her with a partially worried expression on his young face.

"Your uncle isn't going to come back here is he? The way he was looking
at you, I thought he'd really yell at you or something." <It was my
fault that you got in trouble. Gomen.>

"Uncle?!?!" <Shingo?!?!>

"Hai, that tall guy that came with your cousin."

Chibi-Usa started to laugh, "My `uncle'! HAHAHAHA!!!!" Michael took on a
irritated expression. "Gomen Michael-kun, it's just... Mamoru MY
`uncle'! Oh I'll have to remember that one."

"I don't see what's so funny about that," Michael griped.

"Well think about it, Michael-kun, if Usagi is my cousin and she's
fifteen and Mamoru's my uncle, how old would that make him?" Michael
shrugged, "Older than he really is. Iie, Mamoru isn't my uncle, he's
Usagi-chan's boyfriend." <And my daddy. I wish I could tell you that.>

"Oh..." Michael said, "You almost acted like he was really related to
you, like your dad or something when you said `cousin' and well..."
Chibi-Usa winced as Michael trailed off shrugging again. <Strange her
family would let a `boyfriend' do that to her.> "What are you doing
here?"

Chibi-Usa got her giggling under control and then immediately blushed
when she remembered what she had been about to do. "Well, Usagi-chan
would like to meet you. And... I-I wanted to know if you'd... ah... come
and play with me?" <Please say hai.>

"I didn't think you'd be allowed to come and play with me," Michael
replied.

"I'm not," Chibi-Usa reluctantly admitted after a pause, "I was supposed
to ask you if you'd COME with ME... That is, if your parents said it was
okay, and um..." Chibi-Usa ducked her head and mumbled something out.
<Why is this so hard?>

"Nani?"

"Um... If you'd like to... I mean..." Chibi-Usa kept her gaze on the
ground, "I know I acted like spoiled little kid BUT I did have fun
building that castle with you and... um..." she trailed off.

<She was very nice to come see me after what happened. She's very kawaii
too, especially blushing like that...> "I'd love to come,
Chibi-Usa-chan," Michael decided after some thought, "But only if my
parents let me."

"Hai!" Chibi-Usa chirped. <Maybe he doesn't think of me as a little
kid.>

                                  ******

Kimeko walked over to where Sakuya was already sitting and sat down
beside her. Looking out over the water she wondered, "Sako-chan, I
thought you and Mako found two guys you were dating. Why aren't you with
them?"

"They had to head back, Kimeko-chan," Sakuya answered. "Did you get a
look at the boy that our Princess has her heart set on?" Kimeko nodded,
"Who would of thought that a kid with light brown hair and hazel eyes
could do that to Small Lady." <Kawaii. He seems nice from Small Lady's
description. I thought I'd have a few more years before...>

"Hai," Kimeko agreed, "She never took any interest in any of the boys
around the Palace." <And some tried too.> Kimeko turned to face Sakuya
while saying, "So who's going to break them up?" <I hope she doesn't
order me to do it.>

"Nani?!?" Sakuya questioned.

"Well I mean she's going to have to leave sometime and I can't see her
dragging him back. Better put a stop to it before it gets too serious."
Sakuya's mouth opened in surprise and she stared at Kimeko, "Now don't
give me that look... It wouldn't work anyway."

"Kimeko-chan, you're heartless," Sakuya snapped, "And I suppose that you
never encountered `puppy love' before?!?"

"Iie, I'm pure," Kimeko responded. <Not like I haven't been asked.>

"Kimeko, are you sure your eyes aren't brown?" Sakuya said, "And what,
pray tell, was that little four month episode with Trevor?!?"

"HEY!!!" Kimeko squawked, "Trevor was just a friend." She then blushed.

Sakuya was about to respond when Chibi-Usa came rushing past their
position headed down the beach. She was lightly blushing but smiling at
the same time. Both Kimeko and Sakuya stared after Chibi-Usa for several
seconds before looking at each other.

"For a kid whose mother dragged her up the beach so they could talk in
private, she seems awfully happy to me," Kimeko observed. <Did I look
like that around Trevor?>

"Hai," Sakuya agreed. After a brief pause she added, "Which strikes me
as strange considering the look that Usagi had on her face this
afternoon. But whatever happened certainly cheered Small Lady up." <I'll
have to remember to ask Her Majesty what she said.> Giving an evil grin
Sakuya continued, "By the way, I've heard Trevor's dating steady now."
Her grin got even wider as a Kimeko made a sound like a wounded animal.

                                  ******

Rei was the first to spot the returning duo of Chibi-Usa and Michael.
Her eyes grew slightly wider and she made a slight squeaking noise. <I
know that kid! His father's one of MY sensei! You mean to tell me that
one of my sensei actually has a life?!?!>

The others first looked at Rei and then in the direction she was looking
towards. That's when they saw the boy with Chibi-Usa. He was
approximately the same height as Chibi-Usa, maybe a little thinner. His
curly mop of light brown hair kept falling into his eyes. That's when
he'd give an irritated swipe with his hand to clear it out. His eyes
were hazel in color and seemed to shine with hidden excitement. Everyone
could see that Michael was taking long looks at Chibi-Usa and she was
doing likewise as they walked.

Once they were close enough Chibi-Usa began, "Minna-san, this is Suzoko
Michael."

"Konnichiwa!" was everybody's response.

Chibi-Usa rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. <Onee-san, what did
you tell them?!> She continued the introductions, "That's Mizuno Ami,"
Chibi-Usa said indicating the diminutive young lady, "And Hino Rei..."

"Hai, I've met Hino-san before," Michael interrupted, "My father teaches
one of her classes."

"It's nice seeing you again, Suzoko-san," Rei said. <I hope
Suzoko-sensei doesn't see me or he'll probably ask why I'm not working
on that bloody project!>

Chibi-Usa took back control of the situation, "The tall one is Kino
Makoto," Makoto smiled broadly as Michael craned his neck to get a good
look at her. "Beside her with the red bow is Aino Minako."

"Hi-ee!!!" Minako said cheerily then added in a pouting tone, "Well at
least ONE person gets a guy around here!"

This caused Chibi-Usa and Michael to flush brightly, "ANYWAY!" Chibi-Usa
sent a warning glare Minako's way, "There's Tsukino Shingo coming down
the beach with my imouto, Misako." <He looks like he's enjoying himself.
Hmm...>

"Then there's Rakurai Sakuya and Aino Kimeko," Chibi-Usa gave a sigh,
"Kami-sama, I didn't think I knew all these people." Usagi clearing her
throat caused Chibi-Usa to start, "Oh yeah... gomen Onee-san.
Michael-kun, this is Tsukino Usagi, my cousin, and her boyfriend Chiba
Mamoru." <My mommy and daddy.>

"I'm pleased to meet you," he said and bowed. <Onee-san? What a change!>
Michael thought, <It's strange how people can forgive so quickly... I
think we need more of them in the world. Dad always says...>

"Michael's certainly an interesting name," Ami ventured. The others gave
her an odd look, "I hope you don't think me rude but why Michael?"

"Oh well my parents do missionary work. I was born outside of Japan.
>From what I can tell my name has biblical importance; and my parents
thought it suited me," Michael explained sitting down beside Chibi-Usa
who had sat down beside Usagi. "They transferred over here a few months
ago until my otouto is old enough to go traveling with us."

"Well we're very pleased to meet you," Usagi said, "You must have made
some impression on Chibi-Usa for her to follow you off like that." She
turned and gave Chibi-Usa a wink.

"Usagi..." Chibi-Usa hissed out blushing again and Mamoru poked her
gently in the side. Michael didn't seem bothered by that statement one
bit. <Am I going to have to put up with this all night?>

Fortunately Chibi-Usa didn't have to suffer anymore loaded comments
along the lines of Usagi's for almost an hour. The group as a whole had
a wonderful time until a man and woman showed up to collect Michael.

"Konnichiwa Suzoko-sensei," Rei squeaked out and bowed, "I see you're
taking advantage of the holiday." <Please don't ask me about that
project.>

"Konnichiwa Hino-san," Mr. Suzoko responded bowing to a lesser degree,
"So have you started working on that project? It's due the first day
back to school."

"Ummm... Well..." Rei trailed off unsure of what to say. <He sounds like
Ami sometimes.> "It will be ready to hand when we get back to school,
Suzoko-sensei."

"Good, I'm looking forward to reading what you have written, Hino-san.
Come on, Michael, time to go."

"Hai," Michael said, "I guess I'll see you at school then,
Chibi-Usa-chan. Arigato, I had a fun time; it was nice to meet all of
you."

Chibi-Usa was about to say something when she barely heard Usagi
wondering if she was going to kiss her boyfriend good-bye. This caused
Chibi-Usa to once again blush. <Mommy please!> Mumbling out a good-bye
she kept her gaze on the ground. After Michael and his parents left
Chibi-Usa slunk over to Kimeko and Sakuya hoping to find some protection
but it was no use, both Younger Senshi were also quite interested in
discussing Michael.

"Well, Small Lady, it looks like you're finally growing up. He's quite a
catch if I do say so myself," Sakuya teased. <Finally my revenge for the
ice cream incident!>

"Aww! Sako-chan, not you TOO?!?! Usagi's giving me enough of a hard
time." Chibi-Usa scuffed the ground with her foot, "He's just a friend.
Why can't anybody just see that we are JUST FRIENDS?!"

"So when's the royal wedding?" Sakuya asked with a straight face. "You
know if you name your first daughter Usagi, we'll have a heck of name
problem if all three of you come back..." Kimeko giggled, so did the
others who had turned to watch Sakuya take her revenge. <Attack me will
you!>

"SA-KO-CH-AN!!!!" Chibi-Usa ground out, "He IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" <I was
right,> Chibi-Usa thought, <I would have preferred her to spank me... at
least I wouldn't be BLUSHING!!! I'm so embarrassed!>

"But, Chibi-Usa-chan, he IS a boy," Kimeko reasoned, "And he IS your
friend so I wouldn't be embarrassed to have a friend like him. He seems
like a nice young man to me, someone befitting you."

"Kami-sama, now she's starting to sound like Luna!" Chibi-Usa griped.
Kimeko and Sakuya snickered. Luna, having nearly a thousand years to
consider possible mates for the future Queen had come up with a very
demanding mold. It was one of the more private jokes among the Younger
Senshi.

"I think we should head back. It's getting late and it's past Misako's
bedtime," Mamoru noted. <Michael reacted rather well when he heard
Misako call me Daddy. Chibi-Usa must have warned him... But Usagi really
has to lay down the law this is getting ridiculous and I don't blame
Tsukino-san one bit for reacting the way that he did.>

After Chibi-Usa's blood stopped rushing through her ears she turned to
Usagi, <Maybe I can get them off the topic of Michael.> "Do we have to,
Onee-san?" Chibi-Usa protested, "I'd like to watch the stars come up."
<I'd love to stay out here. It was such a nice day and even with what
happened it was great!>

"Sorry, Honey, but we have a bit of a drive and it's nearly your
bedtime, too," Usagi said, "Besides Mom's expecting us home at a
reasonable hour... Maybe some other time like on a weekend we can come
back out and stay later."

"Hai," Chibi-Usa conceded, "Say where'd you take off to after you talked
to me? Mamoru was saying something but I didn't catch it all." <Oops!
Big mouth! Now they know you were listening into one of their
conversations.> Chibi-Usa sighed, <Maybe going home isn't such a bad
idea, at least that way my mouth shouldn't be able to get me into
anymore trouble.>

                                  ******

Makoto opened her eyes and listened carefully. Glancing over at the
clock she saw that it was still early in the morning. <What woke me up
then?> she wondered. Climbing out of bed she put on her bathrobe and
carefully looked out of the hallway. The apartment was dark and silent;
Sakuya's door was closed. <Is somebody here? One of the cats?> Slowly
she crept down the hallway. She stopped to listen, <Breathing?!?>
Tensing herself she slowly walked out expecting to see a burglar...
"Sakuya?" Makoto said surprised. Her voice booming in the stillness of
night. "What are you doing up? I thought you'd be in bed."

"I couldn't sleep," Sakuya answered walking from the balcony door and
sitting down on the couch. The streetlights were the only source of
illumination; it made Sakuya's face appear drawn, tired, old.

"Kami-sama, are you all right?"

"Tired, Obaa-san," Sakuya said, "Just tired."

Makoto came around and sat down beside Sakuya, "What's the matter?"

There was a long pause before Sakuya began, "Small Lady's getting old
enough to ask questions that can get complicated." A small sigh escaped
Sakuya's lips, "She wants to know why I hate Pluto so much. The real
problem is that she's at an age where she can ask but may not understand
the answer." <It's not fair to her.>

"Then break it down," Makoto suggested. "Sako-chan, can you tell me what
your grudge against Pluto is?" <Please? Why are you so closed to
everybody? Bottling it up inside of you won't do anything constructive.
I can tell you're hurting.>

"Gomen," Sakuya replied, "I wish I could, Mako-chan, but there are some
things I just can't tell you... Even if I would like to." Sakuya ran a
hand through her hair, "I'm going to have to leave soon."

"But why?!? You haven't been here as long as you were the first time.
Chibi-Usa's still here, so are Kimeko and Misako. You can stay." <Don't
go. I hated our last good-bye. I missed you so much. Somehow I think if
you leave now, it'll be for good.> "Stay until Chibi-Usa goes back. I
mean there's plenty of room and I don't mind having you. Please,
Sako-chan?"

Sakuya winced internally, <Gomen nasai, Obaa-san, I can't abandon my
duty. I made my choices so I'll have to live with them. You taught me
that yourself.> "We'll see," Sakuya said, "We'll see."

                                  ******

"So is he kawaii, Chibi-Usa-chan?" Momo asked Chibi-Usa with
anticipation in her voice. They were sitting at the swings in the park
talking about the trip to the beach that Chibi-Usa had taken the day
before. <Why didn't she ask me along?> "You're lucky you didn't push
Usagi to the point of no return. That would have been terrible."
Chibi-Usa stared at Momo, "So like I said, is he kawaii?"

"Hai!" Chibi-Usa said, a light red tinge gracing her cheeks.

"You're in love!" Momo declared. This just caused Chibi-Usa to scrunch
up and redden even more, "Oh just wait till the school finds out. I hear
he's really well liked. I've got to meet him!"

<Tell the whole school?!?! It would be too embarrassing.> "You don't
breathe a word of this, Momo-chan, or I'll KILL you!" Chibi-Usa warned
getting up and standing in front of her friend, "Promise me that you
won't tell a soul."

"Well..." Momo started, Chibi-Usa raised her fist threateningly, "Hai,
so I promise... Hey isn't that Michael-kun?" Chibi-Usa whirled around,
knocking Momo off the swing in the process. <I promise to make sure the
whole school knows!> Momo thought, <This is the hottest romance yet!
Chibi-Usa finally has a boyfriend!>

"Chibi-Usa-chan?" Michael called, "I was just thinking about you." This
just left Chibi-Usa speechless and flushed. <What's wrong with her?
She's still blushing,> Michael wondered. As he finally approached he
said, "I don't have long, Chibi-Usa-chan, but I'm glad I found you... I
have something for you." <I hope she'll like it.>

"F-For m-me?" Chibi-Usa squeaked out, "You didn't have to get me
anything." <Oh boy! I wonder what it is... He can't think of me as a
baby if he actually got me something, unless it was a diaper!>

"I wrote a story for you, Chibi-Usa-chan," Michael told her handing her
a small plainly wrapped package with "To Chibi-Usa" scrolled neatly on
one side. "I hope I can see you later on, but I have to go now. Ja ne!"

"J-Ja... ne..." Chibi-Usa looked at the package, her heart pounding. <He
must like me... What type of story could it be?> She licked her lips and
then remembered that Momo was there. <I can't show her...> "Well I
should head for home now, Momo-chan. Ja ne." Chibi-Usa started to walk
but was drawn up short by Momo holding both her arms. "Nani?" Chibi-Usa
said with mock irritation; really though she was feeling something akin
to terror and excitement well mixed together.

"Tsukino Usagi," Momo said sternly, "You aren't going anywhere until I
know what that story's about. Michael-kun won the Juuban District
Literary Award for his grade this year. This one will have to be special
because he wrote it just for you." <Wow wait until the other girls hear
about this!>

<Even more reason to keep it private,> Chibi-Usa thought defensively,
"Gomen, I have to go, Momo-chan, or I'll be late for lunch. I don't want
to give Usagi an excuse to be mad at me." <Talk about timing it right!>
she thought as a near-by clock tower stuck eleven-thirty. Chibi-Usa
started to move off again but was tackled to the ground by Momo who
straddled her. <Where's Sakuya when you need her?> Chibi-Usa bleakly
thought. "Okay! Okay, Momo-chan, you win but I first want you to give me
your PROMISE that you won't say ANYTHING about the story."

"Hai, I promise," Momo chirped.

"Promise what?"

"I promise I won't say anything about the story that Michael-kun gave
you." With that Momo backed up so that Chibi-Usa could stand up. "Now
open it up, please Chibi-Usa-chan!!" Momo giggled as Chibi-Usa grumbled
unlady-like things about what she would do to Momo if word of the story
got out.

Chapter 20 - Good-bye Part 2

The Amazon Trio were in the Dead Moon Circus tent. Zirconia had summoned
them to appear before her. "Amazon Trio! Here is your next target." She
threw a photograph of a young boy down to the Trio.

"Him?!" TigersEye and HawksEye asked incredulously, "But he's male! We
aren't doing it."

"Well neither am I," FishEye added, "He's too young. How could he have a
pure dream?"

"Because," Zirconia's voice came harshly, "His parents do missionary
work helping those in need. That is one reason. The other reason is that
he writes stories that have won awards several times. These stories
always have a pure tone to them. I will not take the chance that HE is
hiding in the boy's dreams. That's all the explanation you're getting.
Don't you dare question my orders again. I don't care who does it but it
WILL be done!" Zirconia glared at the Trio.

"Then FishEye can do it!" TigersEye and HawksEye shouted in unison.

FishEye looked up at Zirconia. <I don't think she'd be happy if I said
iie...> "Hai," FishEye said with distaste.

The Trio bowed to Zirconia and disappeared. Later at their bar, "At
least he's male. Maybe if he was older..." FishEye scowled as the other
two laughed at him, "I don't know why you two obsess about women."

"Because they are sweet as sugar, like a peach. Instead of having the
soft flesh, you go after the pit!" FishEye gave a growl and stalked away
from the maddening duo. "Don't break a tooth now!!!"

                                  ******

Makoto and Sakuya were out enjoying the weather. Or rather Makoto was
TRYING to get Sakuya to enjoy the nice weather. Sakuya's temperament had
gone from foul to worse as the morning had progressed. Makoto could
understand some of her bad mood, Sakuya had only managed a few hours of
sleep the night before but Makoto also knew that something else was
bothering her granddaughter. As the lunchtime hour approached they were
making their way home.

"Sakuya?" Makoto questioned after she noticed that Sakuya had
disappeared somewhere. Turning around she saw the young woman looking
into a store. <What's got her so fascinated?> Makoto wondered as she
approached Sakuya and peered over her shoulder. The store front had lots
of items on sale and it was hard to determine exactly what object Sakuya
was looking at. "Sakuya?" Makoto called again, "What do you see?"

"Nothing, Mako-chan," Sakuya remarked, "Just something caught my eye."

"Oh come on, please?" Makoto prodded gently. <It had to be something or
she wouldn't have stopped.> She looked into the store window again to
try to guess what it might have been but she couldn't tell. "Come on,
Sako-chan, I promise I won't make fun of you."

Sakuya turned her head and gazed into Makoto's eyes for a long moment
before sighing. "It just silly anyway. I couldn't use it so why would I
buy it?" Sakuya started heading down the sidewalk again but Makoto drew
her up short.

"Sako-chan, you were standing there looking like a little girl who's
just seen the one thing in the world she wants. Now is it money? I
mean..." Makoto trailed off as she receive a baleful look from Sakuya.

"Iie, Mako-chan, just something silly that's all..." Makoto gave her a
look that said she wasn't falling for it. That's when they heard the
scream.

                                  ******

Michael after giving his story to Chibi-Usa had headed off to run some
errands for his parents. As he worked through the lengthy list of things
to do his mind kept wondering back to Chibi-Usa's face. <She's really
something,> he thought, <Kawaii hair that looks like rabbit ears, a
kawaii pair of eyes, and...> He felt a slight shiver run through him as
he pictured her red eyes, <She and her cousin must have a lot in common.
Her little sister must miss her parents terribly...>

After another twenty minutes his list was done. Making sure that he had
done everything he set out for home not really watching where he was
going. At first with the street not being overly crowded, there wasn't a
danger. However, as time passed and the street filled with people going
to work. It started to become more difficult for his subconscious to
guide him safely through the maze of people. He was trying to decide
whether to cut through the alley or head up the street when he saw a
couple of Chibi-Usa's friends a short distance away. <Rakurai-san and
Kino-san I think...> Michael was about to approach the pair and say
hello when he heard a noise coming from the alley near him. Peeking
inside he saw a woman coughing, one hand supporting her against the
brick wall of a building. The woman's clothing was tattered and grubby.
She had a push cart stacked high with junk. To the world she would
always look like a bag lady. Not to Michael, he saw someone who might
need help.

"Are you all right, Ma'am?" Michael asked stepping into the alley.

"Eh? What's that?!? What do you want, kid!?!" the old `woman' said
straightening as much as she could. <This is a hideous outfit for
someone as beautiful as I. I hope Zirconia appreciates the trouble I'm
going through.>

"Nothing, Ma'am," Michael replied, "I just wanted to know if you were
all right... Do you need any help?"

"You help me?!?" the woman said, "Who'da thought! You're sure different
than the other kids. They run away when they see me."

Michael nodded, "Hai, I like to help people. I've been to different
places helping different people. I write stories about those places."

"Oh yeah? Why?"

"Nani?"

"Why write the stories, boy? I mean how would that help people?"

"Well," Michael replied thoughtfully, "I dream that if I can write
stories about those places and what happens there and what needs to be
done... then maybe others will do what they can to help."

The old woman started to cackle, "That's some strange thinking, boy.
Nobody helps no one but themselves." She continued to laugh pushing
herself up from the wall. She then grabbed her cart and started to
stumble towards the entrance while slowly pulling it behind her.

"I can help you if you like. I'd be glad to. What do you need?" Michael
said determinedly. <I hope it's not a drink.>

"I need a mirror."

"A mirror?" Michael questioned, "Well I can get you one but I don't have
one on me."

"Hai! You do..." Straightening up, the vagrant was hidden for a few
moments before FishEye appeared, "One!" he called out.

"Nani!?!?" Michael asked shocked.

"Two!" FishEye shouted and Michael was strapped to the board which
caused him to drop his packages. Michael started to struggle as FishEye
approached the youth, "You're right, kid. You ARE going to help me.
Maybe Zirconia was right. Your dream's so sickeningly sweet that he's
probably hiding in it."

"What are you...."

"Three!" FishEye crowed. This was answered by a scream from Michael.
FishEye was about to look into his dream mirror when a flash from above
caught him by surprise. Looking up he moved just in time to avoid being
landed on by Younger Jupiter. "Who are you?!" FishEye snarled. <I've
never seen her before.> Younger Jupiter's response was to pick FishEye
up and toss him down the alley.

"See, much more efficient," Younger Jupiter smirked to her `elder' who
had just jumped down to the ground.

"Hai, efficient all right. Efficient enough to really tick this guy
off!"

"Elephas-kun!" FishEye called to his Lemure, "Come here. These young
ladies think THEY are strong! Show them how weak they really are!"

"Hai!" The Lemure that came forth was a great hulking brute. It stood
well over seven feet. The breadth of its chest alone nearly blocked the
alleyway. Giant muscles rippled from its gray leathery skin.

"Uh oh!" Sailor Jupiter gulped, "Now what?"

"Open! Get out into the open! Too crowded in here!" Younger Jupiter
yelled and backed up around the still trapped youth. <Come on you big
ugly lug!> Once out into the street both Senshi took up defensive
positions as the brute leapt over the board holding Michael and landed
in the middle of the street, buckling pavement and shaking the ground
with its great bulk.

"Keep it distracted while I call the others!" Sailor Jupiter shouted.

"Hai! SHEET LIGHTNING!!!" Younger Jupiter cried. <This is going to be a
tough one!>

                                  ******

"Iie, Miko-chan, maybe later we can all play being Senshi," Chibi-Usa
offered. <I know I'm going to regret getting her that fuku; I can just
feel it!> They were standing inside Usagi's bedroom with the door
closed. "Misako please let go of Mommy; we have to go. Sailor Jupiter
sounded like this one was really urgent."

"Hai, now come on, Miko-chan, let go now!" Usagi told the little girl
firmly. <Kami-sama, it's hard to yell so your parents don't hear you!>

"But Mommy... I want to come!" Misako whined, "I have to come help you
beat the bad guys!" She had a solid grip on Usagi leg and was refusing
to let go. "I S'nshi!"

"Iie!" Usagi growled, "Now get off me. I have to go... The others need
me." She tried yet again to peel Misako off.

Thinking quickly Chibi-Usa said, "Onee-san, let her come or she'll
tattle to Ikuko-mama that we ran off or something. It'll cause less
trouble if she comes."

Sighing, Usagi agreed, "Hai." Misako let go and smiled smugly at her
older sister, "Well let's get going."

"Hai!" both girls chorused.

                                  ******

"I said DISTRACT him, not ANNOY him even more!" Sailor Jupiter growled
out. Both Senshi were hunched behind a car while the Lemure was playing
a game of catch with sizable chunks of concrete.

"Elephas-kun, he's not hiding in the boy's mirror. Kill him and those
bothersome Senshi," FishEye commanded. "Maybe if you were older, kid..."
With that FishEye vanished into a portal.

Elephas chuckled in a deep rumbling voice as he picked up a nearby car
and whistled. Both Senshi stuck their heads up to see what was
happening. That's when Elephas heaved the car toward them.

"Oh shit!" both Senshi yelled as they fled from their hiding location.
Taking off down the street they were thrown forward as the two cars
exploded. Scrambling to their feet both Senshi whirled around to meet
the next attack.

"I good," he crowed, "You not broke yet? Just more fun more me, ne?"
Picking up four tires he threw them towards the two Jovian Senshi, "I
always enjoy good game of ring-toss!"

Reacting more on instinct than anything else Younger Jupiter pushed
Sailor Jupiter out of the way before launching her attack. Sailor
Jupiter flew through the air and struck the lamppost. She gave a howl of
pain as her shoulder was rammed forcibly into a streetlamp. Rolling to
the ground she tried to stand up but was staggered to her knees as an
intense shot of pain surged through her.

<Better get to a safer spot,> Sailor Jupiter numbly thought as the
streetlamp started to buckle.

<Iie!!!> Younger Jupiter thought, <What did I do?!?> Pushing the worry
from her mind with great effort she turned to the Lemure and snarled
out, "You're the reason I did that! You're going to pay you ugly
slimeball!" Younger Jupiter, giving a howl of rage, launched her attacks
in rapid secession. <Come on, where are they?! I have to go see how
Obaa-san is!> she worried, glancing toward her injured grandmother.

"You stay with Younger Venus," Sailor Moon ordered firmly.

"But Mommy! I wanna fight!" Misako whined, "I wanna help you beat the
bad guys!"

"I said you could come, Misako. I didn't say you could fight," Sailor
Moon retorted, "Now come on, minna, I think they really need us. It
looks pretty bad down there."

"But I CHIBI-EARTH! I S'NSHI TOO! I have to fight too! Me help
Onee-chan!" Misako howled in protest.

"You'll be a spanked Senshi if you don't behave yourself for Younger
Venus," Sailor Moon warned and then dropped off the ledge to join the
fray.

"Baka Mommy!" Misako protested, "I S'nshi too." <Mommy not spank me so
she not mean I not allowed to fight. I go and fight.> "Kim'ko-chan, I go
fight?" Misako pleaded.

"Iie, Princess, your mommy told you to stay right here." <I should
strangle Small Lady for getting her that fuku!>

Misako pouted for a few moments before grinning, "Luna-P! Number four!"

"Luna-P! Luna-P not number fomph!!!" Young Venus began to protest.

"I am Sailor Moon..."

"I am Sailor Chibi-Moon..."

"And for hurting OUR friends, in the name of the Moon, WE WILL PUNISH
YOU!"

"More playthings!" Elephas growled out, "Ah the little one not last
long, like that one..." He pointed with a stubby finger to Sailor
Jupiter who was sitting on the ground a pained expression on her face.
Standing in front of her was Younger Jupiter looking haggard but
determined.

"Hey!" Chibi-Moon complained, "Why does everybody keep thinking I'm
LITTLE?! I'M EIGHT!!!!" She gave a yelp of surprise as a manhole cover
acting like a discus came streaking towards her barely missing the young
Senshi. She rushed around to what she thought was cover and came face to
face with Michael shackled to a board. "Michael!!!" she screamed. A
savage expression spread across her face as she stalked back out onto
the street. "YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THAT!!!"

Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus who had been jockeying for position
launched their attacks simultaneously to give Chibi-Moon and Sailor Moon
some time. They struck the Lemure only weakening it slightly. Kneeling
and clasping her hands, Chibi-Moon prayed to the Pegasus, "Please
Pegasus... protect everyone's dreams!" Getting up she started to ring
the Charion Bell while nearly snarling out, "Twinkle yell!"

After the Pegasus came forth, Super Sailor Moon used her "Moon Gorgeous
Meditation" attack and blasted the Lemure back into its shadowy realm.

"Iie!!!!" Elephas bellowed shattering glass. "Stage out!"

Sailor Chibi-Moon ran over to Michael who had slumped to the street when
the board disappeared. She was about to say something when she heard a
familiar voice say, "I am Sailor Chibi-Earth, and I will sit you in the
corner!" Chibi-Moon glanced up to see where her sister was but didn't
find her, "Awww nuts! The bad guy go away!" Chibi-Earth whined.

<What are you doing here, Imouto?> Chibi-Moon thought but her attention
was turned back to Michael when she heard him groan. Quickly thinking
she transformed back to her civilian clothes. <I hope Michael and Makoto
are going to be okay.>

                                  ******

"Obaa-san!" Younger Jupiter called as soon as the Lemure was gone, "Are
you all right?" A worried expression crossed her face, <I knew I should
have left before. If I hadn't have been here, this wouldn't of
happened!>

Jupiter groaned before coughing out, "It hurts so much! I don't know
what happened to it though."

Ami came hurrying over and suggested, "It may hurt but I think you
better change back before the street gets too crowded." Makoto nodded
and changed, grunting as she did. "Rei-chan, would you help Michael
home? I don't think Chibi-Usa can manage on her own."

"Sure," Rei chirped and headed off towards where a worried Chibi-Usa was
squatting beside Michael.

Younger Jupiter shifted back, looked around, and then spotted Misako
standing on the street. <Where's Kimeko?! I thought she'd be more
responsible,> she thought. "Are you going to be okay, Mako-chan?"

"Hai, go see if Usagi needs any help. Ami and Minako can take care of
me," Makoto said with a forced smile. <I don't want you worrying over
me.>

Usagi was sternly looking at her youngest daughter, "Miko-chan! Why
didn't Kimeko keep you away from this place?! It's dangerous!" She
watched as Misako's posture changed from her Chibi-Earth pose to one
denoting guilt. She placed her hands behind her back looking anywhere
but at her mother and scuffed the ground. "Tsukino Misako, where is
Kimeko?" Misako didn't respond but just looked at the ground and flushed
slightly.

"Up there!" Sakuya called pointing up to the roof top. She quickly
scrambling over to the fire escape and ran up its steps. Usagi grabbed
Misako's hand and hurried after Sakuya. She could now make out Kimeko's
golden mane of hair flowing over the side of the building.

When they got up to the top, Sakuya was trying to keep a straight face.
She could feel the corners of her mouth tugging into a smile. Younger
Venus was bound tightly in a brown tape-like substance. When Misako was
set down on the roof, she gulped and flushed as Younger Venus glared
angrily at her.

"Younger Venus!?!" Usagi asked surprised, "What happened?" Usagi's
answer was a string of muffled words. Usagi was bright enough to get the
meaning and glad that Kimeko was muffled. "Did YOU do this?" she sternly
demanded of Misako.

"But Mommy I wanna help fight the bad guys!" Misako defended herself, "I
S'nshi just like you and onee, so I can fight too." <They need my help!>

Usagi was about to respond but the light flash of Sakuya changing into
Younger Jupiter stopped her. She watched as Younger Jupiter walked over
and with Younger Venus' efforts managed to free the trapped teen.
Younger Venus changed back to civilian form sucking in great gulps of
air while resting on her hands and knees. "Well," Kimeko managed after
several seconds, "I never want to do that again!" With Sakuya's help
Kimeko stood up. <I almost suffocated. That stuff really works.>

"Are you okay, Kim'ko-chan?" Misako squeaked softly. She was holding her
hands close under her chin while looking at the ground.

"Kimeko-chan, could you please tell me what happened?" Usagi asked while
taking a firm hold of one of Misako's hands. Misako didn't make any move
to pull away but she did shy away. <She did something.>

"She," Kimeko started angrily, pausing to get some composure back she
continued, "Misako used Luna-P to tie me up so she could go fight."
Kimeko sighed, "I guess I should have been paying attention more. Gomen,
Usagi-sama." <She could of got hurt and it would of been my fault.>

"That's all right, Kimeko-chan. I'm not angry with you." Usagi turned
her gaze on Misako, "Well you didn't listen to me OR Kimeko and you went
where you shouldn't have gone."

"I sit in corner?" Misako asked. <I not care. If I fight, then I sit in
corner too it not bug me!>

"Iie," Usagi corrected the little girl, "Misako, I said if you didn't
stay with Kimeko, I'd spank you." Misako's head jerked up and she stared
at Usagi in surprise.

"But Mommy NEVER spanks me!" Misako's voice started to climb, "She put
me in corner if I bad." <She only spanks Onee.>

"Hai but I told you that if you didn't behave, I'd spank you," Usagi
repeated firmly. <Why doesn't Neo-Queen Serenity spank Misako? I've
spanked Chibi-Usa before...>

Misako's lip trembled and then after a few seconds she started
sniffling, "But Mommy..." She looked at Kimeko, "Kim'ko-chan, tell Mommy
she not spank me!" she begged. <Please Kimeko!>

Kimeko looked uneasy for a moment, "Hai, Her Majesty doesn't spank
Misako." Misako's sniffles grew a little quieter as Usagi scowled, "BUT
I think just putting her in the corner won't do anything... I'm afraid
this time Misako will have to be spanked." The resounding wail that
Misako sent up was mournful. <Gomen, Princess, but you could of been
hurt or maybe killed.>

Usagi wavered for a moment before making a quick decision. She turned
Misako around and landed one firm strong swat on the little girl's
bottom. Misako's crying stopped suddenly for a moment. "Now, Misako, I
want you to apologize to Kimeko," Usagi said sternly then she let Misako
go.

Misako ran over to Kimeko and wrapped her small arms around Kimeko's leg
while wailing piteously. Kimeko just stood there before saying, "Misako,
you could have hurt me." <Good thing I fell backwards or I would have
broken my neck! And if I wouldn't of been in Senshi form...>

"Gomen!" Misako choked out through her sobs, "Gomen nasai, Kim'ko-chan!"
Kimeko after hearing those words reached down and picked Misako up.
Misako shifted her arms so she was hugging Kimeko's neck while burying
her head in the young girl's shoulder. <I not know I could hurt you.>

"Usagi-chan," Sakuya broke in, "You two look like you have the situation
in hand. I'm going over to the hospital to check on Makoto." Sakuya
turned to look at Kimeko and said, "If you want to talk later, you know
where I am." Giving the young girl's arm a squeeze Sakuya headed down
the stairs. After a few moments she popped back up, "Oh and Chibi-Usa is
helping Rei take Michael home. She said she'd call Ikuko when she got to
Michael's place."

"Arigato Sako-chan," Usagi said before turning to Kimeko, "Come on,
honey, let's go home." She held out her arms to Misako but the little
girl only tightened her grip on Kimeko and shook her head. Usagi sighed,
<Gomen, Misako, I don't like to upset you but it was very dangerous.>
Usagi saw Kimeko's understanding as the same thoughts that were
reflected in her eyes. <I can see why Neo-Queen Serenity picked her as
Misako's guardian.>

                                  ******

Chibi-Usa entered the house around two o'clock that afternoon. "Minna,
I'm home!" she called out. Usagi came out of the front room and smiled
at her. "Nani?"

"Oh nothing, so how's Michael?" Usagi asked, "You missed lunch."

Chibi-Usa flushed and said, "Gomen, Onee-san, I ate at Michael's." <His
parents were very nice. I hope he'll be okay.>

"Oh a dinner date..." Usagi giggled as Chibi-Usa flushed and scowled at
the same time. "Gomen, Chibi-Usa-chan, I don't mean to tease you." Usagi
walked over and squatting down gave Chibi-Usa a hug, "I really do think
it's neat that you found someone that you like." Usagi stood up and
taking Chibi-Usa's hand guided her over to the kitchen table. Sitting
down Usagi said, "Chibi-Usa-chan, Misako tied up Kimeko with some type
of tape. Even in her Senshi form she couldn't get out of it. Do you know
what it is?" Chibi-Usa looked around, "Don't worry. Mom is out visiting
with a few of her friends and Dad's at work. Shingo's somewhere but not
home."

Chibi-Usa considered this for a moment before saying, "Well did she use
Luna-P?" Usagi nodded and proceeded to tell Chibi-Usa what Kimeko had
told her after they had gotten off the roof. As the narration drew to a
close Chibi-Usa was looking nervous. "Onee-san, it's a safety device...
Something to be used only if Sakuya or Kimeko are out of action and
there's no other Senshi around. We were taught when we were little how
to use it." <I was taught it so Misako must have been taught too but I
can't tell you that... I wish I could though.>

"So it's not supposed be used like that?"

"Iie!" Chibi-Usa said, "I did it ONCE and only once... It scared me to
death. I thought I really hurt Daddy. I was in tears for the rest of the
day." <If Minako and Makoto hadn't been nearby...> She gave an
unconscious sniffle. She felt Usagi give her a quick hug and she hugged
her back. "Onee-san?"

"Hmmm?"

"Can I go over to Makoto's? I want to show Sakuya something."

"Hai, supper's at five." Usagi said, "Don't be late, Chibi-Usa-chan."

"But what if Makoto invites me?"

"She likely won't. Makoto got hurt today."

Chibi-Usa who had started going out of the room stopped and turned wide
eyed to stare at her mother, "Nani?!? Rei didn't say anything about
that." <I'm a Senshi. Rei could of told me.>

"It's her shoulder. She'll probably be pretty sore for awhile," Usagi
explained, "She dislocated her shoulder... Oh yeah, Chibi-Usa-chan, if
you are going up to your room, I just managed to put Misako down for her
nap. She's not a happy camper at the moment."

"Why?" Chibi-Usa asked, "Was what she did to Kimeko how she got down to
the ground?"

"Hai," Usagi opened her mouth to say more and closed it again while
grimacing. Chibi-Usa walked back over to Usagi and placed her hand on
her arm. She could sense that something was bothering Usagi. "I had to
spank Misako, Imouto, and she's not very happy with me."

"Don't worry, Onee-san, I think she'll get over it." Usagi smiled,
Chibi-Usa smiled back and walked out of the room. As soon as she was out
of sight Chibi-Usa broke into a broad smile, <HAI!!! About time! Now
we're even! I don't know why Mommy doesn't spank Misako but I think
she's had it coming for a long time!!!> With a smug expression firmly
entrenched on her face Chibi-Usa softly entered her room.

Chibi-Usa went and got the story that Michael had given her. <I hated to
see him like that. I feel something special about him. I wish I could
talk to Usagi but I feel uncomfortable. I want to show someone this
story but I don't think Usagi would like it.> She turned to leave the
room and noticed that Misako was watching her. Walking over to the bed
Chibi-Usa said softly, "Miko-chan, I thought you were suppose to be
taking your nap."

Misako sniffled, a fresh stream of tears staining her face and pillow,
"Mommy mean!" Misako said forcefully but softly, "I S'nshi! Why Mommy
think I not allowed to fight? I Chibi-Earth!" A pout formed on Misako's
features as she said, "Mommy spanked me... Not do that before!"

Chibi-Usa tried not to gloat but couldn't resist a little, "You got what
you deserved... Mommy told you to stay there or you'd be punished. You
didn't listen so you were punished." Misako blew a raspberry and rolled
over so she was facing the wall. <Okay that does it.> "Misako, what you
did was dangerous!" Chibi-Usa said, "You aren't even REALLY a Senshi;
it's just pretend!" <Maybe that'll snap her out of it.>

Misako rolled over and sat up, glaring at Chibi-Usa she spoke hotly, "I
really S'nshi! I like you and Mommy!"

"Iie, you're a fake!" Chibi-Usa retorted, "It's nothing but fibs. You
aren't really a Senshi."

"Am too!" Misako reiterated. Getting out of bed she stomped over to the
dresser and picked up her Sailor fuku, "SEE!!!" she demanded holding out
the fuku.

Chibi-Usa scoffed, "Oh yeah?!? Moon Prism Power!" In a flash of light
Chibi-Usa changed into Sailor Chibi-Moon and demanded, "So do that,
CHIBI-EARTH." She put her hands on her hips and smiled gleefully. <I'm
the only daughter who's a Senshi! I knew that baka fuku would cause
problems and it did... How could I ever think of getting her such a
gift?!>

No matter how hard Misako tried she couldn't transform like her sister
and her attempts to change only brought on even harder laughter by
Chibi-Moon. "I hate you!!!" Misako screeched tears flowing in earnest.
Throwing her fuku at Chibi-Moon, Misako rushed over to the bed and hid
her head under the pillow.

Chibi-Moon's mirth suddenly died as Usagi opened the door, "What on
Earth is going on in here?!?" Usagi demanded then spotting Chibi-Moon,
"What are you doing transformed?" while placing her hands on her hips.

<Uh oh!> "Umm... nothing... Onee-san," Chibi-Moon squeaked out and
detransformed, "I was... um... just getting something to show Sakuya."

"Are you going then?"

"Hai," Chibi-Usa chirped.

"Then go," Usagi said jerking behind her with her thumb. Chibi-Usa
lowered her head and scurried out of the room. Usagi waited until
Chibi-Usa was down the stairs before walking over to Misako. Picking up
Misako she cradled the little girl close to her and started to rock.
"Miko-chan, what's the matter?" Usagi asked softly, "Come on, honey, you
can tell Mommy."

                                  ******

Sakuya opened the door with a grumble that stopped when she saw it was
Chibi-Usa. "Hello, Small Lady, come in." Chibi-Usa gave Sakuya an odd
look but entered. While Sakuya shut the door Chibi-Usa put on a pair of
the guest slippers.

"How's Mako?" Chibi-Usa asked as they walked over to the couch.

"Pretty sore. They have her on medication for the pain and she's
sleeping at the moment. She's so sound asleep a bomb could go off next
to her and she'd never hear it." Sakuya stretched and sighed, "I don't
think she'll be up for supper so if you're looking to stay, you'll have
to suffer with my food."

Chibi-Usa giggled slightly before saying, "Arigato but Onee-san is
expecting me home. I like your cooking anyway, Sako-chan..." She trailed
off and fidgeted with Michael's story for a moment before continuing, "I
wanted to show you this." She handed Sakuya the story. "Michael gave it
to me this morning before the Lemure attack."

Sakuya took the proffered story and glanced at the first page. "You must
be something special to him if the title's any indication."

Chibi-Usa flushed brightly before saying, "I-I really like him," she
began slowly, "I don't understand why though... I don't want to talk to
Usagi because I get uncomfortable."

"Why?" Sakuya asked looking at Chibi-Usa, "Why do you get uncomfortable,
Small Lady?"

"Because... Because I'm not sure what to say," Chibi-Usa trailed off,
"Iie, I know what I want to say but it's just..." She shrugged, "Do you
know what I mean?"

"Hai," Sakuya said, "It's because she's your mom, ne?" Chibi-Usa nodded,
"Daughters sometimes have trouble talking about `things' with their
moms, I did..." <When she would listen.> "So do you want to talk?"

"Well, um... could you read that story first?" Chibi-Usa said, "I don't
think Usagi would like it very much." Chibi-Usa shifted uncomfortably,
"Then, I would like to talk."

"Hai, but there are some things you'll just HAVE to talk to Usagi about.
Those things are a mother's domain and I won't even try to pretend I'm a
mother." Sakuya took on a distant expression at that thought for a long
moment before flipping open the first page.

Chibi-Usa snuggled close so she could read along as well. <You'd make a
great mommy, Sakuya,> Chibi-Usa thought as Sakuya moved one of her arms
so that Chibi-Usa would be a little more comfortable. <Arigato,>
Chibi-Usa thought.

As they read time passed. The apartment was silent for the longest time
except for the turning of pages and the sounds of breathing interspersed
with the occasional chuckle. At the end Sakuya turned the last page as
if closing a book and sighed. Chibi-Usa looked up to see Sakuya blinking
back tears.

"Sako-chan, what's wrong?" Chibi-Usa said worriedly, <I've never seen
her cry before...>

Sniffling a little Sakuya answered, "Nothing, Small Lady, the story just
reminded me that you're growing up." <And I won't be around to see it.>

"But why would that make you sad?"

Sakuya wiped her eyes and turned to regard Chibi-Usa for a long moment
before giving a small sad smile. "Because, Princess," Chibi-Usa
stiffened slightly, "You're growing up to be a fine young lady and I'm
very proud of you." Sakuya ruffled Chibi-Usa's puffy hair, "Hai, I'm
proud of you. I think your father's pleased that you grew up too."

"Why?" Chibi-Usa asked, "I mean Usagi's dad does nothing but complain."

Sakuya chuckled a little before saying, "He just hates to see his little
girl growing up. As to why your father's happy to see you growing up.
Well now he doesn't have to worry if you go to sleep and he's holding
you."

"Nani?!?" Chibi-Usa said, "But there are pictures of me and even Misako
sleeping while he rocked us when we were babies."

Sakuya smirked, "Hai but what those pictures don't show is that you'd
soak him through every time!"

Chibi-Usa blinked in confusion. She sat there for almost a minute before
comprehension dawned on her. "Eeewww!!!" she said while screwing up her
face in disgust. "Sako-chan! I'm sorry for attacking you with the ice
cream... Please don't mention that."

"Gomen, to make it up to you, Small Lady, I'll answer any ONE question."

"Really? All the way? You won't cut anything out or say I'm too young?"

"Iie, I promise. So what do you want to know?"

Chibi-Usa gave this some thought before saying, "Why do you hate Pluto
so much?" Suddenly Sakuya moved and got up off the couch causing
Chibi-Usa to slip over. Pushing herself up Chibi-Usa watched warily as
Sakuya walked over to the balcony door and stared out in the afternoon
sky. "Sako-chan, if you..."

"Iie," Sakuya interrupted, "I'll tell you." <I knew this day would
come.> She turned back to look at Chibi-Usa, "You might not understand
it all but I'll tell you." Chibi-Usa nodded. Sakuya paced around for
several seconds collecting her thoughts before saying, "Let me tell you
everything before you say anything, okay?"

"Hai," Chibi-Usa agreed. <If Mommy or Daddy ever found out I was asking
this question, I'd be in hot water for sure!>

"It started even before I was born," Sakuya began, "Sailor Pluto forced
Obaa-san to do something very cruel. She forced Makoto to make her
daughter run away." Chibi-Usa opened her mouth but promptly closed it
again, "Exactly why Pluto did that I don't understand." It came out in a
hurt confused tone, "I know what Pluto has to do and I respect that she
has a difficult job but what she forced Obaa-san to do is beyond
belief." Sakuya paused trying without success to calm herself, "My
mother fled... ran away. The fight was the last time that Obaa-san saw
my mother alive." Chibi-Usa was sitting now a slightly horrified
expression on her face; it was tinged with disbelief. "When my mother
gave birth to me she died of a heart condition." A savage expression
crossed Sakuya's face, "Pluto would not let Obaa-san go to her daughter
in the hospital. She would not let Obaa-san see her daughter even though
she KNEW her location!" Sakuya turned away and stalked over to the
balcony. Opening the doors, she stepped outside.

Chibi-Usa sat tentatively for a moment before getting up off the couch
and slowly walking over to her friend. "I don't understand it,
Sako-chan... Why would Puu do that? She's nice to me!" There was no
answer forthcoming, "Sako-chan, I-I..." Chibi-Usa paused before saying,
"Then why do you think that Pluto killed your mother?"

Sakuya whirled around, rage blazing in her eyes, "Because!" she hissed
out with all the pent up venom, "If my mother hadn't been forced away
from Crystal Tokyo, then she would NOT have met my father. She would
have been safe. Even if she had found a husband and gotten pregnant,
then they might have detected the heart condition. Makoto might not have
been able to do anything but she HAD A RIGHT! She had a right to be
there. Pluto kept us apart for thirteen years. Do you know what hell I
caused in those thirteen years?!?!"

As suddenly as her rage had come it vanished. <Why did you ask me? Now
you'll hate her too. Pluto hurt me not you!> Sakuya crumpled like a doll
sliding down the balcony wall. Drawing her knees up she drew herself
into a ball. Chibi-Usa just stood there shocked in place. She had never
seen that type of anger and intensity before, her mind was swimming with
all the information that she had been given.

Walking over to her guardian and friend Chibi-Usa said, "Sako-chan?"

"Gomen, gomen nasai, Small Lady..."

<She sounds like she's crying!!!> Chibi-Usa thought, "Sako-chan, are you
okay?" The only response was a half-choked sob. "Don't cry, Sako-chan, I
believe you," Chibi-Usa said firmly while trying to hug her friend. Her
own eyes becoming moist with emotion. "Do you know WHY I believe you,
Sako-chan?" Chibi-Usa asked quietly. Sakuya just slowly shook her head,
"Because you don't lie to me. You either don't answer or you tell me the
whole truth." <Why Puu? Why?>

Sakuya raised her head, her cheeks stained with tears, eyes red. "Look
at me," she gave a nervous laugh, "Me, the big strong Senshi who
cries... Pretty ridiculous, ne?"

"IIE!" Chibi-Usa stated firmly, "Don't be baka... Everybody cries. I've
seen Daddy cry. Mommy does a lot of crying." Chibi-Usa smirked at the
thought, "I just don't want you to be sad..." She gave Sakuya a big hug
and said, "I love you, Sako-chan."

"I love you too, Princess." Sakuya returned the hug. They held it for a
few minutes before Sakuya let go. Getting up she led the way back into
the living room. "I think maybe you should head for home... It's getting
late." <I hope you'll still be the same little girl who came in...>

"Hai, arigato Sako-chan," Chibi-Usa said while slipping on her shoes,
"Are you going to be okay?"

"Hai, arigato, Your Highness." Sakuya gave a bow and tried to put on a
smile.

"Ja ne," Chibi-Usa called as she left the apartment, <I hope you're
okay... I need to talk to someone. Maybe I can talk to Kimeko tomorrow.>

"Ja ne," Sakuya called after her charge before closing the door,
<Good-bye, Small Lady. I hope I can be there for you but I have to
leave. Makoto got hurt because of me. Now I hurt you. Is Pluto right?!?!
Damn her if she is. I prey to Kami-sama Kimeko doesn't tell you anything
before I leave because if you ordered me to stay, I'd have to make a
very difficult decision.> She turned and started towards the kitchen
then stopped. Nodding firmly she turned and entered the small hallway
that led to her bedroom, <Have to do this properly. I'll miss you, Small
Lady, but what I did, I did to save you. I hope you'll understand that
someday.>
